Tech Gifts for Non-techies Giveaway!

An Apple TV for my parents. They already use iPhones and Macs making the whole process extremely user friendly for them. The 4th get Apple TV can use CEC over HDMI automatically to allow the 6 button remote to turn their TV off and on and adjust its volume and its airplay features using bonjour make it virtually setup free for them to stream content from any of their devices to their tv. Plus, because I managed to get iCloud working for them and they have netflix, they could finally stream netflix as well as view their music and photos on their tv instead of coming to me with questions about the raspberry pi that does the job now. I know even if this post wins I will unfortunately not get to receive the device to give to them because it is not on Amazon but at least I shared my story.

Both my parents will be getting a NuWave Oven Pro Plus (and cooking guide not linked) since the door for their existing oven is broken and they can't afford to fix it.

Plus the Sonos Amp if I win it since they have some nice bare-wire speakers on-hand they aren't using.

EDIT: At the time of posting the main contest did not specify the kind of item; just the price range and site. I could've made a joke out of that...  :P

I would like to give my mother a 2 in 1 PC tablet/notebook combo. She is currently using an old Compaq laptop from the year 2008 and it's deteriorating very quickly. She uses her laptop to browse Facebook and her Email browser, but she likes to sit down on the couch with a tablet too. I reckon she'll be very happy to be able to do whatever she wants, whenever she wants!

Here is the link to the product: http://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-SW3-013-105N-Detachable-Touchscreen/dp/B00X5X30H4/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1449141131&sr=1-2&refinements=p_36%3A-30000

To all out here: Merry Christmas!

Ciao!

Very nice Giveaway!

I would give my family (but basically my mother) a NAS-System, because she uses multiple devices for work. So she has a lot trouble with transferring data from one device to another. It would make her life much easier.

http://www.amazon.com/Book-Desktop-External-Drive-WDBLWE0040JCH-NESN/dp/B00KU68A1A/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1449141304&sr=8-15&keywords=wd+nas (if the Dual Drive is back again over 300$, she wouldn't mind to get the Single Drive one, I guess :D )

Thanks for the great opportunity to participate in this giveaway and good luck to everyone.

An Ipad for my Grandfather. He is an 85 year old man with a chronic Facebook and Youtube obsession haha Sadly however due to his age and general inability too see small text and navigate on the Windows Vista brick of a laptop that my Grandparents have at their house he is unable to access the super old music on Youtube and read random posts on Facebook that he loves.

Fire TV, because my family likes to watch Netflix and watch other tv streaming services. But we can only use our wii for it and that's in the TV in the basement. I just want to make their lives easier and be able to watch tv in the living room.

Well I would give this Lineage Labs Bevy Smart Photo System to my great uncle.

Why, well he's retired and likes to travel, and even more so, he likes to take pictures, but it's always a pain to sit down and help load all the pictures from the camera to his pc, organizes them, and then store/print them. This device does every thing automatically. He already has a smartphone and a tablet and it would be so much easier if all he had to do was put the sd card in the device and they're they are to view on his phone, tablet, and pc.

I would definitely get  an Amazon Echo for my parents, specifically my mom. Reason is because she cooks a lot and doesn't have enough time to read a book or study for a course she's taking. Plus with all her hands full (literally) she can easily ask for a recipe from the echo and play any songs which in my opinion she would love .

I'd get my mum a laptop since her laptop is slow and about to die and iPad's are completely incapable of doing anything well or at all.

A Hp Elitebook 8440p would be a good choice since it is a business grade computer so it will last, and it has decent specs so it wouldn't needed to be upgraded out of the box.

I would love to get my mom this notebook.

She is using my gaming-rig at the moment because that is the only PC available to her.

In the case that I'm not one of the lucky winners, I would still like a signed T-Shirt :)

Best regards,

Nikolai

A SSD for my wife's desktop.

I gave her a computer I built for myself back in January but had to use it's drives for my new computer, she is currently using a failing HDD from her laptop that I had pulled out.

Recently me and my family changed out the cables for our home theater speaker system, and we noticed that the center channel does not work (even with new speakers replacing the old one) and even the surround channels on our receiver do not work. I've been meaning to save up for the holidays to replace this 7 year old receiver and equip ourselves with a new one. It is time we replaced our receiver to get the best out of our home theater. Although most of my family are not tech savvy, they do know how to use every piece of tech we own.
