Tech Gifts for Non-techies Giveaway!

I would probably give my parents one of those 4K LG Curved OLED TVs to my parents, because they are still using an outdated 32" 1080p TV thats pretty thick, and they have access to all the nice high quality 1440p or 4K videos that they would normally watch, but they don't have the tech to watch it in all its glory. They also don't have any smart features on the TV, which isn't great because they are still using a 1st gen Chromecast, which can only go up to 1080p This TV would solve all their problems with quality issues. Also I would give them decent stereo speakers along with that.

That is about ten times the maximum amount the giveaway allows. Just an FYI.

I would realy like my parants to have an Asus Zenpad S 8.0

http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-ZenPad-Z580CA-C1-BK-64-Tablet/dp/B012UEUQM0/ref=pd_bxgy_107_img_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=0HN93R8ZVZNPVAPAAWS4

My father could really use it because he is way a lot of the time and he could use to stay in contact with home as wel as use it for the lectures and classes he gives at those moments.
He does not have a mobile phone or a laptop.
And this way my mother can still keep up with technology. She only has a Nokia 3310 now. Not kidding.

I would probably have to say my parents a solid reliable computer for my dad. He's a maintenance man that currently has to use an E-6000 Dell machine, he can't look up what he needs to for his work at time as the programs don't have compatibility often with his machine.  It really makes things difficult, and I feel like a bad person because I can't really help him out in this venue because I don't personally have the money. Add on top of that I keep having to repair his machine with bits and pieces that I find around or buy secondhand, it really would be a Christmas for not only him, my mother, but also me. While the preference would be a custom solution so he could be somewhat set to maintain a new machine for a time following something like this laptophttp://www.amazon.com/D550MAV-DB01-Intel-Dual-Core-2-16GHz-Laptop/dp/B00S43ORUO/ref=dp_ob_title_ce

would work well for him and allow him to get back to what he does for a living with the frustrations every couple months of his computer being down, and the daily frustrations of not having his computer be able to do the work that is required of him.

My dad used to build everything from scratch back in the day, it was his hobby. He'd build the PCB for an amp, soldering parts one by one all night only to move on to the next part. He even made a bike out of wood, but its nothing compared to his love for sound. I'd get him an Orpheus, but I think a Sennheiser HD 380 Pro, or a Audio-Technica MSR7, even a HD8 DJwould be more grounded in reality. Besides he's a pilot, he'd need some level of sound isolation.

You gotta do you girl. I always say you gotta do you. And if he's doing him, then who's doing you? Because right now, it seems like no one's doing you.

You gotta tell him who you're giving it to and why.

i would get this kindle fire (16GB with the 32GB sd card and screen protector) for my mum. she is the best mother on the planet but has just had a big operation on her lungs and she isn't able to drive for 3 months so is house bound. she is getting incredibly bored. she has the old kindle fire and it is getting very slow and unusable.

my mum normally spoils me and my sister with lots of things at christmas but we don't have much money in our family after my dad left so it would be awesome to get this kindle for her to show her what she means to me and to be able to get her something she really wants for christmas!

Thanks

I would get my grandmother(and grandfather) an Amazon Echo device.   It would bed a simple matter to tell them to just talk to the device to get it to work.  Saves all the phone calls about computer/internet problems even just accessing amazon!

Harmony home hub is the way to go! It supports most devices your family could want and allows you to make complicated setups for them by simply customising the buttons so they will never know anything changed. All they need to know is which button does what and you are sorted!

Mine would definitely be the Harmony Ultimate Home Universal Remote Control for My Sister.

so many phone calls and text messages about  "how do i change to the dvd player"

"how do I turn on the game console"

"now i want to watch TV"

this would solve so many text messages
