DSLR Video doesnt look up to standard...

Gershy13

yeah... i still need to try and fix this clip... but it doesnt look good as in detail in the faces....

Also were you wanting a "realistic" grade, or a cinematic movie style?

Could be your lens was soft at the aperture you used, or your focus was not perfect etc, or well many things, its really hard to comment on footage taken by others

i was more going for a realistic grade...

Maybe... i was using the 18-55 at f7.1 i think...

I dont think my focus was perfect, but i think it was ok... it looked ok on the camera screen then...

That's why i recommend getting a field monitor, there are good 7" models that cost no more than $200.

Also the 18-55 is a pretty meh lens so you might need to apply a lot of post processing and sharpening

It's just good enough for youtube unboxing videos. And even then I consider it barely adequate.

55-250 is probably worse,

id suggest maybe investing in some prime glass, like the 24mm or 50mm, there might be some old canon FD glass you can invest in without costing too much

Well everyone says my reviews look good, and I freaking hate them

Its not footage from the next Avatar movie, but for what you filmed , and what you filmed on, it looks fine, I am not sure what you are expecting, if you want better looking video, it kind of comes down to either being very skillful and artistic, or better equiptment
