AsukaNii

Don't let the man get you down. I'm sure a patch is incoming, I mean Bethesda wouldn't leave the game a steaming pile of crap would they?

for that game, since i knew i wasn't gonna play it for what it's worth...i'm sailing on illegal sea.

no patch incoming for me.

The beta patch sucks balls, balls.

On topic, I'm not impressed with the 390x or 290x. At least the 290x has come down in price to match it's performance, the same can not be said for the 390x. But the 980 is even worse. Fury?

If anyone asks you never saw me.

Fury is a great option, but considering the 4GB of VRAM, you can get issues if using mods with FO4... mods arent exactly known to be "VRAM optimized"

Yeah, my 390 with some light mods is always over 2g, I occasionally go over 3g. There are some mods targeting ram usage though for both varieties. Haven't tried them but I hear they work.

Back on topic, as i said the GTX980 is the superior GPU, hands down...but i agree with your post it depend on price i WOULDN'T pay 100$ extra for it...but for 50$ it would be worth it. (assuming not a cheap ass reference card, but an ACX2.0 or windforce for example)

No, it's not.

Nvidia's offerings below the 980 ti all get beat by AMD.

Keep in mind that this is the 390x vs the 980, not the Fury. The 980 barely wins.

it still win while outputting less heat and noise and it fully support gameworks, VXGI, texture compression, PhysX, CUDA, MFAA, TXAA, shadowplay, gamestream, DSR and some others and GOOD day one game ready drivers.. 50$ more, get that...more than 50$ more...good 390X.

No contest between the two I'd take the 980. But that Fury looking over the 390x's shoulder looks like it wants to cut in

it's all about finding a good deal i paid only 200CAD more for a 980ti vs 980 (800$ vs 600$) so you know...390X would have been 500$ here so i would have bought that and a freesync monitor but i like my setup better, completely DESTROY 1440p...and the grass is VERY green on this side of the fence.

The Fury is a step above the 980, no doubt.

No, the grass has dog shit in it on both sides so watch your step, or you stink up the place ;)

havnt had such experience so far...NONE. (including a year and a half with a GTX780 3GB.)

Must say though previous to that i had a HD7950 and that served me very well too, not bashing on AMD one bit here they are ALSO doing good.

They let go support for HD6970 TOO SOON imho though...these are still good cards many people playing BF4 at 1080p on them having a very acceptable experience. (Also had an HD5870 for over a year and a half...that worked AMAZING too...best card i ever had)

I love you brother but you couldn't tell if you stepped in that pile the great Dane left behind

Which is good in it's own way. It's always easier on the person to live with a comfortable lie, than face an inconvenient truth.

They trade blows at best. My link has more games included than yours. Look through the benchmarks. I'm also not interested in what biased AnandTech has to say. The 390x would still be competitive if it were priced similar to the 980. In case you need more proof:

EDIT: I put in wrong video. 390x and 980 are overkill for 1080p, so that video was irrelevant.

390x... much better value than the 980. you get more vram and slightly worse performance for a considerable amount less.. 8gb may not be necessary but you're getting that for cheaper than the 980.. its a no brainer

Can you point me to evidence that a 980 is quieter than a 390x? Not sure why you list GameWorks then list everything included in GameWorks as if they're separate. How exactly is texture compression an advantage over AMD? GCN 1.2 has that and the 390 and 390x don't need with the 512 bit bus. AMD ha VSR and Raptr, with OBS being superior to both solutions. Lol @ gamestream. Sorry, I'm still waiting to see what this superiority is.
