Lenovo's Y-series gaming devices will infused with Razer's chromatic flair. Specification on the Y-series Razer Edition has yet to be revealed , but its website notes that the line will be made up of varying grades of hardware.

The two companies announced that together they will co-brand and co-market special Razer Edition models of Lenovo’s Y series gaming devices – marrying the manufacturing, supply chain and channel relationships of Lenovo, the world’s number one PC maker, with the immersive technology and deep expertise of Razer, a leading company in connected devices and software for gamers.

Razer matches Lenovo’s scale and broad appeal with a high-touch dedication to the gaming community. Lenovo and Razer will be offering Y series Razer Edition products to Lenovo’s extensive global reach and Razer’s core gamer communities. Additionally, both companies are looking to jointly double down efforts to fast track the development of new technologies, including gaming experience enhancements.

used to happen a lot during 2000-2007

ugly. that front is super ugly, why does it have that bulge? and 2 optical bays? sure, some people still use optical drives. but moving forward, I doubt they will.

the case looks old, I wonder how it is designed on the inside.

Yay! So now Lenovo will have another way to get their data mining out there.

Ever since that laptop thing I don't really trust them.

Is that real CF or just CF wrap?

Haha, wrap. There's no way they'd pay the premium price to make it out of real carbon.

That wrap looks hideous and tacky, never been a fan of the fake cf crap, other than that it looks decent.

I cannot vouch for the Y series at all.  Despite looking pretty good, and offering decent performance, they're turds.  They're in the Ideapad lineup, and they'll give you tons of problems.  Mine died after just a year.  A $1000 machine. Fucking ridiculous.  I just hope this doesn't ruin Razer's decent reputation.

Is that real CF or just CF wrap?

Neither.  It's textured plastic I'm pretty sure.  At least if previous Y series is any indication.

The case has cancer and they're trying to make it appealing by putting Christmas lights on it and fake carbon-fiber like a Cholo on a Honda Civic.

So it's gonna have unremovable spyware AND be pure crap in the quality department?

Lenovo's consumer products are already crap to begin with. Buy a Thinkpad if you can if you want a Lenovo, preferably one with a custom OS install or no OS at all.

I use one bay for my sound card http://i.imgur.com/8kPi8zj.png

I could envision a use for a swappable HD if I happened to have a kid.

Currently the SuperFish ball is in Dell's field

As for quality - the crap award goes to Acer there
