Climbing the ranks gets exponentially harder the higher you climb and the longer everyone folds. There's a 100million point gap between me (Rank 30)  and @HrutkayMods (Rank 29)

image.thumb.png.f92ed586e883257df4e425cba2dca081.png

Also to break top 100 you must has 185million points. When I started folding (November 2018) that number was less than 100 Million, I was able to hit it around this time last year I think (Might have been April or May)

A lot has changed in a few years, I was in the top 20 for I believe 3 years. I got knocked out of the top 20 probably six months ago after my main folding rig died I just never got another system that folded like it did. We have so many excellent folders now with really nice high-end equipment it is truly hard to keep up but I have managed to jump up two spots again Back to 27th

CPU: Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition 3960X | Motherboard: Intel DX79SR "Stormville" | RAM: 32GB G.SKILL Ripjaws Z Series DDR3 PC3-12800 (4x 8GB) Quad-Channel | GPU: 2x EVGA GTX 970 FTW 4GB in SLI (I have Many other builds plus 100+ Macs (don't judge me)... Many specs are listed on my profile)

So ive not done any folding in about 5 years but saw the request for help on Covid. Anyway i have been running it for a day or so now am noticing it seems hard to get WU's, is this normal? CPU WU seem to be fine just GPU 🧐

Still chugging along, clawing my way up towards a million points...

Had to pull two of my workstations offline for a bit to try and "upgrade" the processors to make less heat and consume less power. Tried to increase my core count in one case but the machine didn't like the low-power hex-core I put in it and wouldn't boot. Might be a BIOS issue.

Something I have noticed...Compared to other peoples scores, my impression is that I am racking up points at a reasonable rate but my WU count is proportionally higher that most. Any explanation for this phenomena? Am I getting fed more but smaller WUs than average?

Broke into the top 900. Not sure how much higher I'm going to be able to climb given my limited resources but we'll see~Screenshot_20200414-224037.thumb.png.6c3639c1560ea2fcf692d1c4ac6843a7.png

Guys, I think I have super CPU here, 3.5M+ PPD, 0.70 secs TPF (yes that 700ms) I can complete 1 wu in about 70 secs?

Spoiler

I Think intel put some super power on their old CPU (10 years ago!!)

Of course its just another glitch in the matrix...

And this is the real performance, after re-adding CPU slot (restart FAHClient/windows just doesn't work)

I'm really struggling to work out how to link my folding@home stats with BOINC. It says you need the same username and password as folding@home to link to your stats, but I have no password just a passkey and it's really not very obvious on the Boinc site how to do this.

Sorry to sound like a noob, but I'd like to link up to earn my badges as I've earned over 2,000,000 points for team Linus.

What do you mean by that? You just want the badges, right?

Just go here -

And post a link to your BOINCStats account, and a SEPERATE one to your Folding@home stats page. The two don't need to be linked together.

I think the blue text at the top o' the page has a lotta people confused. 🤷‍♂️

Specifically:

How exactly does that confuse people? I am almost 100% sure that this is not the problem, there must be something and somewhere else.

That quote does not mention connecting F@H and BOINC.

However, I'd assume that problem is in this sentence:

Quote

DON'T FORGET TO GIVE YOUR FOLDING ID/ACCOUNT ON BOINCSTATS SO THAT WE CAN CROSS-CHECK!

But even there you can clearly see "/" between "Folding ID" and "Account on BoincStats".

"/" usually means "or"...
