Wi-Lan card replacement

Hey.

So I have a custom built gaming computer.... everything about it is amazing except for the internet.  When the computer was first built, I don't even know what type of Wilan card was in it, but it was a miracle if it could connect to anyones internet (friends, mine, etc).  So I recently bought an ASUS card.. the NCE-somethingsomething. It worked in the beginning, and I have been overhauling my computer and now the card doesn't work again with my internet.  It works ok at friends houses but at my house it can never connect. It is so frustrating that I am just done with WiLan cards.

So I was thinking of getting the Netgear N600 or the Netgear N900 and just bypass the whole Windows internet connection because that blows. (the Netgears connect through my computers' ethernet cable and act as a sort of router).

Unless someone has a GREAT wilan card that would go into a PCI-E slot or a PCI 2.0 slot.

Thanks.... I'm so frustrated.

Just bought an ASUS PCE-AC66 and it is AWESOME.  The range and power are incredible.  Before I could only see about 4 networks around me and now I can see over thirty.  It supports 802.11ac and comes with an external base antenna that helps you fine tune antenna placement.  A little costy but I'd recommend this to anyone serious about going wireless.

EDIT:  I hope this wasn't the card that you were mentioning lol.

Yes that reminds me that my previous card was a Rosewill... After having that card, I will probably never go back to Rosewill :)

the problem isn t you wireless card, it s most likely your router since the comp work fine at your friend house.

what i suggest? a ethernet cable, nothing beats that.

if you can t do wired, i d try a powerline kit.

or just swap your router for a better one. (asus ac66 to get wireless ac)

Anything I write is just a comment, take is as such, there is no guarantees associated with anything I say.

Why? If you get a wireless card make sure it has dual band, I know I needed it.
