No I would not. You need a very good cooler, the stock one will, simply throttle the CPU. You need a very good motherboard woth good, power phase and a decent PSU that can handle the heat. In gamimg a i5 easily beats a any FX chip and for rendering the Xeon 1231v3 or any i7 beats the FX9

No way, the heat output alone would be insane.

I don't mean a one time 5.5ghz oc, it's gotta be stable

Is the 9590 really that bad compared to Intel? I was looking at some benchmarks with the 9590 vs the 4790k and they usually get the same FPS. Would anyone recommend the 9590?

Did the benchmarks mention any fps drops? Cause that is something intel have above AMD on any frequency.

FX 9590s are 4.7GHZ out of the box. It is just an OCd FX8350 anyway but 5.5 is dueable on FX chips.

But you can take a locked i5, and still get the same FPS in games than a 4790K does. This is because games rely mostly on GPU power.
Why bother with a CPU that demands a high end motherboard, cooler, and for you to look up after those insane temperatures?

I personally like AMD though I will not lie about Intel destroying AMD in every aspect except for budget workstations

It's doable with a huge rad or dice. It's not a 24/7 overclock that's for sure.

FX 9590s are 4.7GHZ out of the box. It is just an OCd FX8350 anyway but 5.5 is dueable on FX chips.

Lol, the fastest 8350 cinebench run on Hwbot.org with watercooling is only 5460 mhz, and that's a GOLDEN chip with nearly 1.7 volts being pumped through it.

5.5 is nowhere near easy on an 8350, you'll be lucky to get 5 24/7 stable with a nice watercooling setup.

Not to mention they don't even come close to keeping up with current gen i7's.

I would definitely say it's bad in all ways. Current gen Intel CPU's smashes the FX-9590 in terms of IPC's, scores in frames and rendering benchmarks, and TDP. Let alone that you are going to need a good 800-watt PSU (I mean a very good PSU), a motherboard with good PWM power delivery to the CPU. Low end ones will be burnt out (Asus ROG Crosshair V Formula-Z is like the ONLY one with that kind of PWM delivery that will outlast other motherboards, even in their own stacks), and serious liquid cooling (Even air coolers of the largest sizes won't be able to keep up with the 220-watt TDP when you put it under load)
