Acer 2560x1440 and graphics card

alphafox

Hello

I've been looking at a new graphics card and stumbled across this deal on an Acer 2560x1440 monitor. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009728

The problem is that buying the new monitor and a new graphics card to power will most likely break my budget. So instead of going for a 980 as originally planned I am thinking of going for a 970 Strix which is on super sale (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121899). Will this be enough to power a 1440p for gaming? Any Advice you can give would be greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't get a 970 as it's underpowered for that monitor. Either get a 980ti, 980 b-stock from EVGA or get a comparable AMD GPU instead.
