ddr3 dimm compatible with ddr3 sdram?

ok i want to get(DDR3-SDRAM mobo):

Question is, do I need to get new ram for this build?!?

Any DDR3 memory would be compatible, provided it's a 240-pin stick. SDRAM is the type of memory that's used with DDR3, so no problems there either. As for whether it's worth upgrading however, if you already have an 8GB kit running at 1600mhz, upgrading won't really help too much.

Since you linked the A10 however, it will not be compatible with the HP desktop you linked, in case you were planning on upgrading too that. It uses an different socket, so you'll have to replace the motherboard for that.

yea i wanna get that combo there, i just wanted to ensure the ram would still work from the p6 to the asus. ty chris.
