Is it safe to turn off windows firewall?

So i need to update a game named warthunder, but it tells me it doesnt have enough access to preform this operation and now im asking you guys if it is safe to turn off firewall and install this update and then turn it back on?

You should be able to add the game to the exceptions list

I already got a decent firewall running on my router so I keep windows firewall disabled, it doesnt do anything but cause issues for me. So yeah, just make sure your pc is clean from viruses n shit..

The Windows firewall was implemented with Windows XP SP2 in response to security threats that could spread on a local area network. It was not implemented to protect you only from threats outside your network. DO NOT turn it off. Certain viruses and worms can spread on a LAN, and as no anti-virus can protect you from all threats, the firewall is to be another layer of security. At the college I attended, I've seen what can happen when a worm has a large population of unprotected computers in which to propagate as I was responding to the mess to get computers secured and the mess cleaned up. So unless you have no other computers on your network running Windows, DO NOT turn off the Windows firewall, and make sure it is enabled on all computers running Windows.

Just turn it off, ignore all the big babies crying about malware. It's not going to kill you to turn it off for 10 minutes.
