What should I get?

If you have the $200 to spend on a 285, why not just buy a new R9 380 4GB?

The R9 270X is the best deal. The 650 deal sucks, the R7 360 isn't that good in general, and you can get a 380 4GB for the price of that 285.

I used to be quite active here.

I got my 280x for $160 + shipping from CA

285 is not worth $200 i'm sorry, 270x is a decent deal so I'd snatch that up.

Don't get the 270, it's in the 750Ti's weight class essentially.  If you can grab an R9 285x please get it and not the 270, the 270 is awful imo.

360 and 270X are the only ones that would be worth getting. (actually considerably cheaper than retail)

the 285 is more expensive the the 380 (which is basically a 285, only slightly better). (wait a nVidia 285 was a thing?)

650, just no.

I don't need a great gaming pc, just something that is a good deal and can run modern games on medium at ~40 fps is fine with me lol.

How about you answer the question. Not everyone has the money to get brand new Titans and 980Ti's. And according to everyone else on the forum some of those deals are good.

270X is the best value for money of the deals here

the 285 (regardless of whether it's nVidia or Radeon) is just as, if not more, expensive than a modern 380, which is just better.

I know that but look at the deals section today. Do I have a titan x? No. Does my computer bench as faster than a titan x would? Yes, and how much did it cost me for the GPU power? Only $300 over 2 years because I purchased intelligently.

You can seriously find a 260 (same as a 360) for $10 more new as on craigslist. And for $10, new is worth it.

R9 380 for $160 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/477706-us-newegg-xfx-r9-380-2gb-double-dissipation-160-after-mir/

R7 260 for $70 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/477708-asus-graphics-cards-r7-260-is-half-off-on-amazon-70-us/

R9 290 for $222 http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/477822-us-newegg-sapphire-290-reference-cooler-22298-after-20mir-and-299-shipping/

Used 290's go for $170-190 on ebay and ~$200 for aftermarket. r/hardwareswap has aftermarket 290's for $190 (source I bought one)
