It went slightly over budget but this ensures you won't have to touch it for a LOOOOONG time. Not even kidding. That thing will last super long. If it doesn't, I take full responsibility. If you want me to cut back and fit within budget again, just tell me. I've been having second thoughts about the i7 though....

There's a very good reason for those modifications. I wanted to have DDR4 RAM support so I went to skylake, by the time you upgrade next, DDR4 RAM will be the standard which means you'll be able to recycle the RAM and make some more money off selling that Skylake CPU as opposed to the Haswell based one. the 16GB ensures you'll be able to throw ANYTHING at it for a long time to come although you can go to 8GB of RAM if you want to.

I hope I haven't given you the wrong advice or made a PC that's way too overkill and expensive for your needs...

But thank you! I'm very excited to see it. Again, if you want, you can change the CPU cooler to something slightly more quiet if you want to.

What was the reasoning behind switching from the 120GB SSD to a 256SSD?

120 should be plenty for boot/ ... something else I deem High priority.

Better make/brand..? the new one has nearly $150 on the old suggestion

@TechGod happy 420th.

The first thing that stood out was the 950.  Why does he need all that speed?  It is double the price of a standard SSD.

The CM hyper 212 is very loud, I have one... loud.  A Cryorig H7 is much quieter and looks way better.  A Be Quiet Pure Rock is a good choice too.

The motherboard is white/black, but the RAM and GPU are red.  The Corsiar LPX 2400 CL14 (black) would be nice, and are usually my choice when they are cheap.

Unless the buyer specifically asked for the Fractal, I would go with the Phanteks Enthoo Pro at $100.  At least you got the one without a window.  Define R5 and a window... I never understood that.  The Define R5 is not a great airflow case, but it is a great case.

All in all... the build is solid.

Your choice of course, the difference being the M.2 connector which is faster than the SATA on the Fury X. Both are reputable brands though and I only chose the 256GB SSD as you have more SSD storage, if you don't particularly care about more SSD storage then you can go back to the Hyper Fury X.

@stconquest is right though. I don't think you'll notice the difference between the Hyper Fury X or the 950 Pro.

yeah I'll keep it cheaper at the Fury- as it shows  I am little on knowledge so I doubt these I'll know what I'm even missing.
