New Phone: Motorola Moto G 2015 vs Vodafone Smart Ultra 6

So, let's get down to the point. I'm kinda a phone noob and I'm upgrading to a new smartphone soon. I'd like your advice on which I should pick, the Motorola Moto G 2015 (the 1GB RAM 8GB storage version, the 2GB RAM 16GB storage version is not available on upgrade for me) or the Vodafone Smart Ultra 6.

 

I'd like:

5" IPS screen or larger

Android, with minimal bloatware

Storage is not important as I have a few microSD cards around

Quick for web browsing

 

Moto G Pros and cons:

+ Confirmed updates to Marshmallow

+ Compatible with dbrand vinyl skins

- Less RAM/storage overall than the SU6

 

Vodafone SU6 Pros and cons:

+ Better technical specifications than the Moto G

+ Larger 5.5" 1080p screen -  better for media consumption

- Not confirmed updates to Marshmallow AFAIK

- Larger screen - worse for ergonomics (I have small hands)

 

I do a fair amount of media consumption with my devices as well as messaging and web browsing, and the occasional picture. I'd really like it if you could give me your verdict on what phone you would choose out of these two, or if you deem it necessary suggest alternatives that fit my needs under £150 or so.

I'd go with the Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 IF you're okay with not getting Marshmallow.

 

Personally I'd go for it because with a phone like that by the time the OS it comes with gets too old you'll want a new phone anyways. Heck, I'd still be fine with Jelly Bean.

I've got the moto g 2015 with 2GB of RAM and 16GB storage - I bought it off contract and then got a sim only contract. Personally I couldn't have a bigger phone - I'm a young teen so I've got quite small hands and a bigger phone also wouldn't fit in my pocket. I also have quite a bad case of butterfingers and a bigger phone doesn't help.

If you can venture off your carrier i would suggest the zenfone 2 or one plus x.

well your paying full price for the voda or the moto g. and the zenfone and one plus x are likely going to have a better experience even if they are 20% more in price they will have a 50% better experince

No I'm not, they're available on my upgrade plan so I don't pay anything.

I'm going to upgrade my phone on contract, and after a little while ditch my contract and begin paying as I go.

As for the price limit, if I want to replace it with the same phone or it's successor (a habit of mine) when this one inevitably breaks I'll have to pay for it, and as such need it to be not to expensive.
