You need DVI or DisplayPort in order to utilize the 144Hz refresh rate.

Does the monitor come with a DVI cable? Additionally, is it the same DVI as on my MSI 390x? The multiple kinds of DVI confuses me.

That the X2411Z is better because the VG248QE has PWM and the X2411Z doesn't.

Go with the X2411Z unless you want displayport.

Yes, the monitor comes with a DVI cable. The 390X has both DVI-I and DVI-D. If you look on the back of your card where the I/O is, the top DVI connector is DVI-I because it has the four extra pin holes on the right side - that's for DVI to VGA adapters. They carry analog signals. The DVI connector next to it is DVI-D. DVI-I supports all DVI types. The monitor only needs DVI-D which is what it has.

Alright. Kickass. Is it 144hz out of the box? Or do I have to go in and tweak settings on the OSD?

I can't state your experience, but my experience was I had to manually enable the 144Hz functionality(GTX 970).

Alright then. Just making sure. I'll do a double check of all the settings. Definitely looking forward to playing some CSGO on this thing, not to mention shit tons of other games. I love CSGO, I just gotta stop shooting my teammates in the face. :D

You have to enable 144hz in the Windows display options and use a DVI dual link or Display port but apart from that it is 144hz out of the box.

Alright. I'll look through the windows display settings when I hook it up. Requires no tweaking of any AMD driver settings?

Shouldn't do, it's Windows that needs configuring with the display not your GPU.

Asus is 230 on amazon.

Did you at least look at the X2411Z, the price difference for the X2411Z is going to be worth it because it is the better monitor than the VG248QE.

Alright then. I'm quite knew to owning a GPU. Previous experiences being a GT335m, and HD4600. :P

If I were to buy that monitor, that means no FO4 preorder, and buddy, there's very little chance of that happening. I've been waiting too long for Fallout 4.

:D sweet. It's just that easy. How smooth does 144hz appear as compared to 60hz? Night and day?

And prices always change on amazon

If you were to buy the Asus and complain about it in the future then whatever.

Just saying get the better monitor that you will like in the future.

But whatever it's your choice anyway, we don't control people's lifes.

Depends in which games. In games that require a lot of motion I certainly noticed a difference straight away.

Why would the OP complain? the VG248QE is still a good monitor...
