VR Game lets players experience the 9/11 attacks

A VR game has appeared on the net called 8:46.

The creators of the game made it as a school project, with a 6-man team and 3 months of development.

 

 

Based on countless hours of research in order to try to properly recreate the atmosphere and dynamics within the top floors of the towers, [08:46] was designed and developed as a school project during three months by a six member team, working in close collaboration with two actors for motion capture and voice acting.

 

 

I think it's cool someone did this, one of the many applications of VR.

 

Of course it couldn't sim actually being there properly.

 

 

Thoughts?

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

I don't really care, but I don't see a lot of people being accepting of this.

OT: I kind of wish I had a Oculus Rift right now to try it out. The game looks mildly disturbing.

I'm not sure if "game" is an appropriate word to call it, unless it's actually meant for entertainment value. From the looks of it, it's more of a simulation for other people to get a different/closer perspective of the twin tower attacks, in which case this VR "simulation" is no more "controversial" than a Wikipedia page discussing the 9/11 attacks.

That's cool, I would play that.

It's good to face things straight. There is no point in not talking/depicting such important events. It's not like it's a game where you are doing a terrorist attack. Although it was here before and even in AAA title.

There is absolutely no way the experience is even close to what the 9/11 attacks were like.

I don't think it is appropriate to make a game about it, or rather it must hurt some families who lost a loved one or people who survived it, but I guess it was inevitable something like this would be created. I'm assuming it is really just a "see how it happened" not "experience it and play it" type of thing.

If there is anything they should use to say it was an inside job, it certainly shouldn't be the jet fuel argument.

Agreed... I don't agree with the premise, but if someone really wanted to call that shit an inside job, please for the love of god use a reasoning that is at least plausible.
