'Plus or minus' and 'error' should be replaced with linus

per example

'Within the margin of linus'

New research on the effects of sitting

Also like, wasn't there supposed to be a group discussion in the video?

So just to clarify, this "new research" is on mortality.  There are still many health benefits from standing AND/OR alternating sitting/standing throughout the day... those benefits just might not be a reduction in heart disease or diabetes.

I've had a standing work desk and also a standing home desk for 5 years.  I alternate standing/sitting throughout the day.  I personally have noticed an in increase in flexibility in my hip flexors, hamstrings, glutes, and general tightness in my lower back.  I'm a pretty active and fit person, so I really enjoy being able to stand and sit whenever I fee like I need to stretch or relax my muscles, respectively.

I don't think standing all day is healthy... I think that's bad for your knees and back.   But I do believe that it's very beneficial to alternate stand/sit frequently (hourly or so).

1K for a simple desk with a motor & height adjustment is too fucking much.

Ok it has some amazing disign tho but still too much... yeah since they tell you its not for Lazy people and designed for standing up for your health because yeah... height = standing unless you have some BAR chair café/tearoom stuff but who the fuck drinks & eats at a desk xD

I'm happy with my OAK finished desk like that only costed me 1200EUR :D

So yeah my opinion about height adjustment desks (MOSTLY the PRICE)

Wait+what+i+don+t+even+know_23988f_39964

You could just buy some standard desk thats about designed the same way & qwality for like 8-9 times LESS & stand up if its for HEALTH standing up isnt enough... you have to move to be healthy run arround go outside & more...

There a video...

I've done a hamster-wheel setup before(still have it). Casually playing PC games while cruising 2.5mph for hours at a time. I've gotten the most-wide treadmill I can get and rigged the handlebar with a panel board. I lost 11 kg in 3 months and that's without dieting or going to the gym.

If only the price....I think I will end up going bar-height desk + barstool before this, unfortunately. '

Unfortunately I think ergonomics companies are still pricing for Company/Business purchases, and not for the growing number of those working from home. I don't qualify for the tax write-off etc etc.

The cost of this desk is about what my Rent will be....

  • 2 weeks later...

I was thinking in buying a Bekant electric desk from IKEA. I live in Portugal and IKEA seems the only company who can deliver the best desk on a quality/price ratio.

Did anyone tried this product? For me will be 530€.
