Corsair unveils the Corsair Carbide Series 88R

Today Corsair has announced the Corsair Carbide 88R. It is a micro ATX case similar to the 100R. The front and top support 2x120mm fans and the rear supports a 120mm fan. There are 2x 2.5 inch bays and 2 3.5 inch drive bays and a 5.25 inch bay. The front has a USB 2.0 port, USB 2.0, headphone and mic port and power and reset switch. There are cable mangement features in the back with zip tie downs.

PC is Intel Core i5 6400, GIgabyte H170 Gaming 3, Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x4GB 2400Mhz ,Sandisk Ultra Plus 128GB, WD Blue 1TB, NZXT S340, ASUS Geforce GTX 960. Fractal Design Tesla R2 650W. http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/793XNG. Graphics card choices don't always have to be dictated on performance. If you want the game stream and power consumption of the GTX 970 get that. If you want raw performance of the R9 390 get that. In the end we are all gamers, so what if your buddy gets an extra 5 fps?

Well, this case, which has a lot less hype about it, seems to fare better than the Bulldog

I doesn't look like it's has fan filters on the psu which is disappointing...

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

looking at the pics on the site it has a psu filter front im not sure

Looks good but build quality looks questionable... Especially the side panel.

I don't really think the market needs another bog standard case. Companies need to start being a bit more inventive.

It doesn't seem too special imo.

I feel like we need some more innovation in the case market. Buuuut there's only so many ways you can make a usable case for a computer... Oh well.

I can tell that it uses the same bulge side panels and that it was very little space for cable management behind the tray. I do not like this....at all. In fact I need a modular PSU but one that can take flat cables. However I gotta give it to Corsair, for people like me with limited access to parts that are usually not available and when they are almost always overpriced, they're one of the only ones with proper distribution internationally so I might just get this case.

the pci covers are the kind you can't put back. that's a lot of points deducted in 2015

Looks decent, but nothing to make me want to move away from my 350D. If they price this around 50 bucks, then that would totally be worth it for a cheap matx case.
