I still don't understand why Linus complains about the battery life on the Apple Watch. The battery life is great. I put it on my nightstand at the end of the night with 60-70% charge left having used it for 13-14 hours I can easily use it two days no problem.

Go to Macrumors and you won't see anyone complaining about the battery life (They'll complain about nearly everything else). Seriously, I haven't seen a single other reviewer mention battery life other than Linus.

The battery life is fine. What isn't fine is the way Apple uses irritating software tricks that compromise the experience of using the device in order to achieve the all day battery..

I wouldn't tolerate a phone with a 5 second screen timeout that I can't disable so why is that acceptable for watch??

The two screen time out options are 15 seconds and 70 seconds.  ;)

I'm still rocking the 4s (because i actually use siri) and its finally too slow for me to handle, along with the hardware being old and running out of space blech yeah yeah yeah

 

So i think its finally time for me to upgrade to a new phone, and what Linus said at the end about it being a good upgrade that will last a while I think this may be the one

 

Know I know android is probably the more preferred option here, but I just don't have a use for all the things that an android phone would get me, plus with all the options and the insecure stuff that I don't want to have to deal with on my pocket texting / Reddit machine.

 

Ive usually never had a problem with phone battery life and can usually make it through the day on my 4s with about 20% remaining. 

 

So I guess im just wondering if theres anything you think I would do with an andriod that would change my mind about getting this phone.

iOS isn't exactly exempt from malicious attacks. 

 

Android and iOS are basically the same for 99% of things with Android being more customizable than iOS (until you jailbreak iOS, and then it's basically the same -- yes, you can root an Android device, but even then...it doesn't add all that much that jailbreaking doesn't give you). So get the phone that has whatever features you may want and/or is at the price point you're okay with spending.

It's probably worth adding that on the scale from A-G, all modern phones are between C-G. But considering I never once had an issue with my 5s (which is rated at the bottom of the list); and since the 5s wasn't known for having signal issues, I tend to believe the tests are largely irrelevant in real world performance. 

 

Yes I thought about that too, but to a certain kind of customer the signal strength is valuable information, so why not inform about it :) My father for instance, he lives in a place where you're lucky to have a conversation over det gsm band, if you stand on a large rock in the garden...
