Well, right now I have a TP-Link product that works on one computer and doesn't work on another, so that's not really helping their reputation for me. I haven't tried any Asus networking products yet, but from their other products I've continuously loved their quality and support.

what product r u using?

I've never owned or used tp-link so I have no experience or opinion of them. However, with Asus, I've have had nothing but nightmares. My first Asus product was the USB-n13 which was plagued by awful drivers and frequent dropouts as well as slow speeds. My second, and last experience, was with their RT-n53 which suffered from frequent resets as well as high latency and a strange qos that couldn't be turned off (Netflix would only stream at 235 kbps rather than 5800 kbps). The range also sucked, but that's about average for routers of that price range. My experience with Netgear has been acceptable. The WNDR3500L worked quite well for the first year that I owned it, but it started to suffer from random resets that occurred more and more frequently. The WNDR4500v2 that I got after my Airport Extreme died (best router that I've ever owned) works quite well so far. I'm thinking of getting another refurb as a repeater when they're on sale again.

Edit: I guess I never learn.

TP-Link WN823N. I got it to work, though.

But one thing to note is that it cuts down my speeds in half. It's a very weak adapter. Doesn't even come close to the one in my laptop.

bad experience :( did you guys purchase new ones after this ?

I have the Asus works really well no complaints. Though I have only had it 4 months or so though. Good speed, great distance.
