I didn't notice much, maybe on the top and bottom of frame but that's it. I have an IPD of 65 and its near spot on.

Better hurry, not sure how long the sale will last. Microsoft Store Canada has had the explorer on sale for $129 cad before as well.

Oh damn, it's like half price right now... So tempted.

How is the experience with the drivers and software? Any calibration required?

My only concern is the GTX 760 I'm using right now won't be able to handle it. Runs PCars 2 fine at medium settings 1080p at anywhere between 60-120fps, but I don't think it would be enough for this. Can always upgrade down the road I suppose.

Hassle free software so far! Just a few gigabytes install for the windows mixed reality suite and then WMR for SteamVR in the steam store. Only have to do the initial calibration for the headset and you can center in game whenever you want.

I'm running a single 290 and it seems fine although I'm probably not hitting the 90hz. WMR recommends a 460 so ?‍♂️

dfsafdsagfdsagkfldsfghjkfd just spent the past hour rather frustratingly trying to capture Assetto Corsa in VR.

First off, OpenVR Beta on the rendering works fairly well in SteamVR. It's projected onto the headset in the same FOV as if you were playing on a single monitor and most of the gfx fidelity is retained. I'd go so far as it looks vastly better in VR than PC2 does. HOWEVER I've come across a horrendously annoying issue where the game will straight up crash or lock up the system out of the blue, at random intervals - on curbs, off curbs in the dust, going in a straight line, etc. This happens both when recording and when just playing normally in VR. Also unlike PC2, AC mirrors the headset image at some crazy FOV so its all distorted and you cant even really make use of the capture.

In short when it's working, it's great, but my god is it frustrating.

Here's what I was trying to capture. @MEC-777 you should definitely look into picking up this DLC if you're at all still interested in the game because it's well worth the price in fun.

Also threw on multiclass laguna seca in PC2 just to keep getting acclimated to the Explorer. Not the best thing to pair on a gamepad but you really do need seat time to get the most out of VR.

Also exercise balls don't make for the best chairs in VR.

So ACC? how is everyone finding it?!

Also looking at finally getting away from the G27, been enjoying the sim but time to build a nice alloy light one and take it to 2DOF for that bit more fun.

Been a while since I was last here so here the updates on my Sim I built. Nothing fancy but working really well and super adjustable.

So for the new One, I'm looking at doing the Thrustmaster XS-PC and building my own Pedal box and button box. Not going to bother with a Manual lever as barely using it anymore and just doesn't seem worth the effort, but hey can also add the Thrustmaster one later one.

Amazing work!! I've gotten back into 3d printing and kind of want to redo my parts too. Is there a schematic for the G27 button wiring somewhere?

Thanks man,

uumm I did find it somewhere, but its pretty much one wire to all 3 buttons and the other 3 go to each switch. Got the switches off Banggood, and they perfect.

Very highly rate the G27 center hub adapter, but I kept snapping the 3D printed paddle extenders even at 100% infill over the weak point. Was super easy to just make them out of Alloy plate.

I still have my Derek Speare parts for the hub and button plate, but it would be nice to have spares! Looks like he does his out of some hard ABS or something.

Just something small I've noticed in your VR footage; your head seems to always be tilted slightly to the right. Is that just a natural habit of yours, or does the headset need to be re-centered? Just curious... It triggers my OCD that's all. lol :P

The cable does tug the headset down a bit and I haven't bothered to adjust it ? you can offset it with the recenter but I'm lazy, although I'm not sure if PC2 has some built in lean in the helmet cam

Still getting used to VR, driving is pretty sloppy on a gamepad but I legit played for two hours and lost track of time. Tried to compensate for the tilt by readjusting the headband, not sure if it worked but what I am sure of is if you overtighten you'll definitely start to feel it.

Played around with the UI as well. The top left corner is really the only place you can put it if you dont want it floating around in space on your monitor, however its perfectly aligned in the corners in the headset. Keep in mind what your eyes actually see is anything from the top left of the windshield to about the rear view camera, and just a bit of the helmet top and bottom.

Finally figured out why it was capturing the HMD's external camera in my recordings... turns out AMD Relive uses it as an input! Odd as it isnt advertised anywhere that the hardware can be used for such a purpose, even if it is just low-resolution black&white. But no more black box overlay!

Dont have the next release of ACC yet so I decided to hop back into VR. Man it looks... worse than 2d? Something about the AA or sharpness, everything just looks blurry.

I have been messing about in Rfactor2 the last couple of days in preperation for streaming it.

It's really good, the force feedback is a bit strange compared to AC, but i like it...could do a bit more tuning though.

I normally drive the 488 GT3 in AC, i got a one for RF2 and it feels really nice to drive, if a little twitchy.
