Budget SSHD

hi. i need a budget SSHD from scan.co.uk

 

would be nice to get under 100 pound. well preferably under 100 euros if to be specific.

which one should i get?

The only difference between those two drives is the total capacity. One has 1 terabyte of storage with an 8gb cache, while the other has 2 terabytes of storage, but the same 8gb of SSD cache. They should both perform roughly the same, but you will be able to fit more on the first linked drive.

sshd isnt really a good solution... even for single drive systems.

 

the extra cost doesnt nearly line up with the rather small performance gains.

 

that 8GB ssd space isnt even enough to cache windows for that to boot up faster, which is honestly the only reason i'd see an SSD be used...

you can get 47€ SSD and 52$ HDD

for a single drive, it does load up faster than normal HDD, but its also slower than normal SSD

so it make sense in that case

launching programs faster.

faster file system searches.

faster file transfers from other SATA drives (and USB drives). 

less noise.

less heat. 

better data security. 

physical durability (desktops need this, too).

all of those advantages you mentioned dont apply to an SSHD.

well.. i was on about "SSD"

 

but all those before mentioned advantages disappear when a HDD is also into the system, and when that HDD is doing the majority of the work.

(which is basicly the case with an SSHD)
