Coolermaster Mastercase pro 5, can it fit a top mounted kraken x61?

Mentaltoast

I just built my dream computer recently and my only gripe is that the case I chose (nzxt s340) isn't that great for airflow to it. I'm using a Kraken x61 but the only configuration the case allows for is to use it as a front intake and thus blowing warm air through the rad onto the GPU.

My temps aren't BAD per-say, however they're higher than I was hoping for.

Idle I'm hitting around ~20c with my Cpu, and ~45-50c with my Gpu.

Under load the Cpu rarely hits higher than 50c,

Under load the GPU tends to hit around 71-79c.

However, whenever my gpu is under load, the kraken front fans CRANK to 100% non-stop in order to keep the gpu stable, these fans are LOUD. They have to crank that high due to the fact that the gpu is getting warm air and the only way they can cool it is by cranking higher and blowing MORE hot air at it to try to cool it some more.

I decided to shop around a little and eyeball some better cases. Hopefully to top mount the kraken x61 instead of front mount so i use it as a push exhaust so i'm not bringing in warm air anymore into the case.

This leads me to my question, after looking around I ended up finding Coolermaster's Mastercase Pro 5. I really love the look and the modular idea behind it, The ability to move the position of the drive bays, the top water cooling rad bracket , the window side panel that can hide the psu and other drive bays is something I LOVE. (And if i pull the trigger on it, i'll probably remove all the drive bays and put my mech down below with the psu to give even more unobstructed clean air from the front fans.

So my question since I can't seem to find a concrete answer anywhere is can the Mastercase Pro 5's top water cooling bracket fit a kraken x61? I couldn't seem to find exact dimensions or other users using it to confirm and wanted to make sure before I pulled the trigger on the new case.

The X61 does not fit in the top of the MasterCase 5 (the X61 is a 280mm rad, top supports 240mm rads only), but it will in the front.

According to coolermaster.com (scroll all the way down for specs) the top mount can take 240mm radiator, up to 40mm thickness without fan. So I guess that's a no. The same table does say it can take up to two 140mm fans thou, so don't know what's up with that then.

I'll post this as a comment to prevent posting another thread all-together.

From what I can tell, the Corsair Obsidian Series Black 450D looks like it would offer great airflow and accommodate the kraken x61 top mounted. Can anyone give me a second confirmation so I know I looked and read everything correctly :P?

So i know this is an old post but you can up the 280mm rad in the top, but if you want it to be exhaust, it must be a pull config. I asked CM and they sent me this link which shows you how to set it up:

I also found this video on how to set it up

Hope this helps and sorry about showing up so late.
