Memory speed over clock

jjohnthedon1

Hi guys

So I got my cards up to 8ghz effective but I don't no if the msi 980tis have active cram cooling

My temps didn't increase and both cards are stable

Will this effect the life or the cards?

No buddy you should be fine. Most GTX 980 Ti's seem to be reaching around 8GHz on their memory clocks. Without touching the core clock I got mine safely to 8.4GHz but had to back it down to 7.4GHz to get my core clock up to 1500+MHz stable.
