CS:GO in 4:3, why?

So I watch most of the ESL CS:GO games on their twitch channel (after the fact, very rarely I get to watch live).

 

And I notice that some of the players run CS:GO in 4:3 mode.

 

Is there a specific reason and/or advantage to running in 4:3 instead of 16:9?

 

Or is it just a preference thing?

Huh, fair enough.

 

I figured it must just be a preference thing because not all players (even within in the same 5-man team) run it the same way.

 

Just wondered if some things were  displayed differently due to the aspect ratio and if that could possible give like 1/3 of a pixel advantage or whatever. :)

I prefer 1:16.

10/10 focus.
