Which Wifi card

Recommended Posts

Posted · Original PosterOP

Hi,

I just need something to connect my desktop to wifi. Just moved into a place with no ethernet. I want something strong (not some staples/radio shack crap) and am looking to spend around $75-$100. Doesn't matter if it is USB or PCI as long as it is good. Which one should I buy?

Thanks

There isn't anything better? Was expecting something a little more expensive than that. (Not saying it is bad, just a little lower than I expected)

I recently bought the ASUS PCE AC68. AC adapter, though it was a bit pricey IMO: ~95 USD. I like it though. It's got a red PCB. :D

A bit on the pricey side, but it is solid performer and hasn't let me down: http://www.ncix.com/detail/asus-pce-ac56-dual-band-802-11ac-41-96191-1935.htm

Does 2.4 and 5 GHz, 802.11abgn,ac

Stick with PCIe/PCI, USB cards can be flaky.

I just threw in an order for one of those. Need something strong and it matches my color scheme as a bonus.
