I'm really considering picking up a pair of ADM UIC lowers for future projects. Probably a 12" 5.56 and an 8.5" 300BO.

I really like how they integrated a right side bolt lock/bolt release; push up to lock back, push down to release.

They look good, how much they run for?

Milled lowers cost money. Right side bolt lock/bolt release costs money. Left side mag release costs money.

Plus I've done a bunch of builds on forged lowers, kinda want to do something different with the next one.

I've been to California recently, got to shoot some stuff in LA. Gotta say - co² just can't compare to the real stuff, guns are awesome.

It was really interesting how relaxed they were about it though. Like I heard California isn't the best place to do it, and it still the non-nonchalance about giving a random tourist guns was interesting.

Here's pretty much how the conversation went:

- you two new?

- yes, we're tourists from Belgium (me and a friend) (<- neither of us ever held a real gun)

- ok, sign this form (about not pointing guns at people, basic range etiquette, yada yada)

- *gives form to person*

- ok, choose any gun (huge ass gun rack behind him with AKs, Sniper Rifles, SCARs and other cool stuff)

- we - *drool* and ask for the AK47, which is promptly supplied to us with bullets.

My experience:

- Goddamit Cali for putting those plastic thingies on the grips of rifles.

- 5.6mm rifles give way less kick than I expected. (AK47)

- 7.6?mm rifles are exponentially louder and more recoil-y than 5.6mm (SCAR17) (go Belgium go!)

- 9mm rifles are just funny. There's barely any sound or anything. Just like "boink" "boink" "boink". (MP5)

- Colt 1911 is the easiest & chillest gun ever. Even the .45 version has almost less kick than my co² airsoft version. HOW??? (Colt .45 ACP)

- I shot a sniper rifle. Kickback and sound was deafening but it felt cool. Then I shot a big, bad, and oh so lovely magnum. You 'muricans are crazy, hahahaha.

Pricey though. Ammo adds up quickly. Over ~3-4 hours, we spend about 400$ total, of which prob 300$ was the ammo.

Nice, but the AK-47 shoots 7.62×39, lol

The SCARS shoots what's called 7.62 NATO, or .308 here in the states.

Currently focusing on my video game collection.

Huh. 'Ait. I was fairly sure the dude at the counter said 5-something, but I guess he was wrong? The AK was noticeably quieter than the Scar though.

Ah! After a bit of googling is seems it was probably an AK74, which is 5.45mm.

7.62 NATO and .308 aren't thebsame, close though.

The casing is ever so slighly different, and the 7.62 is a less powerful round. Feeding .308 through a 7.62 specific gun can cause jams and issues feeding.

They do make Scars that shoot 5.56 ammo. Also, 7.62x51 and .308 are a little different cases, close but a little different.

That'd be the SCAR-L. The most disappointing 5.56 to date.

But the SCAR-H is one hell of a .308.

Anyone have experience with the CZ Scorpion?  I'm considering getting one, since it takes the same 9mm as my handguns.

Great no issues at all, I have it on a TNArmsco Polymer lower as well also with no isses. It did destroy my knock-off red-dot sight in the first three rounds but got a TRS-25 and have had no further recoil issues.
