What would be your monitor weapon of choice?

PeggersXtreme
Go to solution Solved by Praesi,

Oops I should have specified what I meant like is it accurate being IPS I guess it is good. I'm also wondering if 144hz will help stop me getting sore eyes

The Colours on the IPS Panel are superior.

Only Displays for Graphicdesigner are better and those cost 2000$.-10.000$ and are not meant for Gaming.

I just can repeat myself. The Colours are sharp and natural, The Picture is smooth and there is no tearing anymore. No tearing at all.

I customized the Display settings to this and everything is perfect.

Cant say much more. Only 21:9 with the same speccs would be better, but since such a Display does not exist, we have to wait some more i guess.

With your GPU´s you will have awesome visuals and awesome performance.

4K isnt worth it for me atm. Im want great performance and not game with 30 fps or turn settings down. 1440p is the perfect sweetspot.

So a lot of news has come about the Predator X34 and unfortunately it's not good it was recently released in some European countries but people have found the monitor is 60hz out the box and the 100hz overclock is at the users own risk and not guaranteed shouldn't say 100hz on the tech sheet in my opinion.

So I am leaving that choice behind and would like to know what you guys think will be the better experience. The panel will be driven by two Titan X's

Any Pro's and Con's for Ultrawide vs 16:9 High Refresh? I heard a lot of games dont fully support Ultrawide or is that not true?

Isnt the x34 only 100Hz when Gsync is on? With Gsync off 60Hz. I thougt Acer said this bevore.

Is say go with the xb270hu. Gsync and 144Hz is awesome and too many Games dont support ultrawide yet.

21:9 is realy nice to look at, no question about that. But in 1-2 Years  21:9 will be far more supported and highend displays in ultrawide dont cost over 1000€ anymore.

Nope in the Acer manual they put 100hz is achievable at the users own Risk if monitor doesn't display anything revert back to default settings.

Hmm, thats a huge dissapoinment.

Yeah the biggest disappointment is that it isn't even 75hz like the Free sync panel or at least some people have had 60hz out of the box.

Well it should be easy for you.

Do you want an extreme fast Gsync Display, or do you want 21:9 Format with no gsync and "only" 60Hz.

I will buy a 21:9 Display in the Future, but nothing below 100Hz and with Gsync.

I have my own list of pro's and cons for both

Acer Pro's:

Fast Refresh

Gsync

Standard Aspect Ratio

No Power Brick (Power supply built in)

Acer Cons:

No HDMI or other outputs for other computers or laptops

LG Pro's

Ultrawide

Lost of inputs and Outputs

LG Quality Control is Better

LG Con's

60hz

Not all programs and games support 21:9

Power Brick

Well its DP only yes. But never was a Problem for me because my PC is the only thing i use for this. For all other things i have my TV.

All i can say is, that the xb270hu is the best Monitor i have ever used.

I use the stand. Asus´s Design looks better, but Acer´s stand look better in RL as in Videos. I deceided the buy only because of the Display itself.

I was actually thinking about that if I get the Acer the money I save from not getting the X34 I could get a nice TV for movies and other consoles DVD players etc.

Out of those two I'd go for the acer - but personally I'd rather buy a 4k ips monitor.

I have two titan X's which as you know cost a lot and I would like them to last at least 2 maybe even 3 years without needing to upgrade so I want a monitor that they can drive for that amount of time without needing upgrades 4K is nice but It really require a lot of power and regular upgrades.

I guess the main question is rather than Ultrawide vs 144hz will 144hz be a big game changer vs 60hz

I got them on sale for the price of 980ti's so I thought why not over the 980ti's I got them for around $1500 I live in UK so that is only an estimate conversion but they were exactly the same price as 2x 980ti Non reference cards

the difference is certainly noticeable - and I don't belierve 21:9 is worth the price.

that's still hella expensive to settle for less. besides trust me when I say 4k is worth lowering a couple of minor settings
