Oh, well I completely agree with that, to an extent. My question about going from one type of multi-threading to another was simply: "What more can a CPU do?" Meaning, why would it gain in performance? As I do not believe it will very noticeably.

I think the real performance gains for this stuff will be from games like Planetside 2 that had their entire workload on one thread. Those will be the ones to benefit the most.
