Initially, I tried to fix a Xeon version of an i7 and a 770 but it was a few dollars over.

Switched to AMD since AMD is cheaper overall.

I chose the 8150 due to the 8 core, high enough clock speed, and it was $50 cheaper than an 8350.

The CPU cooler is boss, it's ORANGE!

I chose an Asrock motherboard due to it's matte black background doesn't draw away from the Orange and Black theme.

Ares ram is orange

Corsair Force GS is RED :D

I chose a single, powerful GPU over CFX or SLI, and it's a DC2 so overclocking to 7970 levels is possible.

NZXT phantom? Hello, it's red.

OCZ Fatal1ty? Knock, knock. Hello, red calling!

Mouse, Keyboard, Speakers They were inexpensive and fit the bill. I love logitech products.

and let me clear my throat.

ORANGE SATA CABLE AND ORANGE LEDS! :D

Welcome to the Build-Off! The rules and guidelines can be found here.

This week's challenge is to build the coolest looking (and well-performing) PC with an orange and red color scheme for $1,100. You can use any form factor and any brand.

This contest will run from Friday August 9th to Thursday the 15th, with Wednesday the 14th and Thursday the 15th reserved for voting.

Get to it :)

UPDATE: Voting is live and open until Thursday night/Friday morning. Some of your entries have not been counted because they do not adhere to the rules (lack of peripherals). Notify me if I mistakenly disqualified you. Also for the voters, note that Emrykan's entry is his last post, not first post. This week's thread got a little messy, so could the contestants delete old revisions of their entries? That would make it easier for people to vote.

UPDATE Aug. 16th 2013: @Terminashunator is the winner. Congrats! The next contest can be found here.

Physically build it or picking the parts?

You only need to make a parts list. I don't expect everyone to build a new PC every week :)

I'd be happy to answer any questions, but check the rules first (The title of that thread says "no building required." You can also check previous build offs to see how it's done.

Okay.

This is an Nvidia based build. I chose to get 4GB 760 to ready this build for a future upgrade - adding another 760 4GB into SLI. The PSU is enough to maintain 2x 760 SLI. 4GB is plenty for coming High-res textures and an SLI of 760 will have enough horsepower to make use of all the vram you get here.

I went with Intel obviously because an SLI needs a really fast processor or you are bottlenecking the whole thing. Also 4670k is superior to even FX-8350 in 99% games so i dont see any reason to even consider go for FX-6300/6350 here.

The build is 'OC ready', the case is very nice and i went with very good air cooler for I don't think 'cheap liquid corsair coolers' are a good idea. If you want to upgrade to custom loop in the future - then fine, but getting a 'liquid cooler' at a budget is silly in my opinion. Air coolers all the way.

The keyboard and mouse are definitely not gaming ones but for their price i think they will be enough, and you can always upgrade.

My PC includes an Optical Drive for installing OS and it allows for usage of DVDs. It also has 1TB storage HDD so you can keep your Steam games there. It doesn't feature SSD - it's not crucial in my opinion in a gaming PC and it's something to look forward to upgrading to.

I went with a beautiful red scheme here on all parts. z87-g45 is an awesome high-end motherboard, SLI ready as well, and it makes your PC look great.

760 is TwinFrozr. I could choose a Gigabyte 760 4GB Windforce but it has no color tags.

The whole build is 1150 and will last you years if you do small upgrades in sometime (add another 760 4GB, upgrade peripherals perhaps, SSD) and I hope you guys like it.

So... If Jesus had the gold, would he buy himself out instead of waiting 3 days for the respawn?

I'm sorry, but I can't accept that. In real life that would make sense, but in a contest I can't stretch the budget even 1 cent, or else I might as well have made the budget higher to begin with. Please update it or I can't add it to the poll.

Several builds don't have speakers or a monitor with built-in speakers.  Is that still a requirement?

A lot of these build look pretty similar, but when you have a color scheme consisting of orange and red, choices can be limited.  Here is what sets apart my build:

1. I decided to not only design a great performing but also a great looking build.  To that end, I decided on the BitFenix Prodigy case in Orange with an additional windowed side panel (in orange, obviously) and a small strip of BitFenix Alchemy lighting in red to place right above the window.  I chose G.Skill Ares RAM because it comes in orange and I chose the MSI GTX 760 with the Twin Frozr cooler.  Those red stripes look incredible.

2. Building in a BitFenix Prodigy presents many challenges.  I should know; my current rig is in one.  The PSU is more than enough for the build and actually fits.  It's very difficult to install any type of air cooling in the prodigy, not because of high clearances but because of the motherboard layout.  Most mini-ITX boards place the CPU socket very close to the PCI-E slot.  Therefore, if you have a GPU installed, no aircooler will fit.  So I went with a water-cooling set-up.

3. To help meet the budget, I went with a hybrid storage drive instead of a dedicated SSD.  Slightly less performance, but not too noticeable.

In the end I surprised myself.  I thought that this color scheme was atrocious but I kinda like it now.

Please include speakers/headphones. For some reason your links and formatting (bold, italics) are broken. Can you try to copy + paste the BBCode again and see if it is fixed? No big deal if it isn't.

I went for all orange guts in a red case. Unless you want me to be more specific with how the colors are integrated, arranged etc.
