I'm going to build my first PC, rate my components

Tomku

Hello there people of Linustechtips.com.

I'm planning to build my first pc in the next week or so. I have spent a decent amount of time planning my build. Now, I'm not the most handy guy when it comes to computers so I had some friends help me out with the components. I did some research myself aswell and this is what I ended up wiht. Could you guys give some feedback on this? Is it al compatibel with each other? I want to play some fairly big games like GTA V on this PC. Thanks for your help!

Don't get Corsair CX power supplies. If you swap out that PSU it would be a clean build.

I would personally choose the s340 for a case, and you shouldn't buy a k-series CPU with a H97 board.

Get a z97 board for overclocking, or the locked 4460/4690.

When in doubt: C4

looks nice, thats basicly what i have now and i have good framerates at good settings in most games! also get z97 mobo! for the overclocking!

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

okay...let's see..

get the evga 600B for a psu. get a cheaper motherboard and a 4460 instead of the 4690K. also go for the S340

I am a member of the PCMasterRace. I am terribly sad to announce that I own a PeasantStation 3 Super Slim. it's in a drawer away from my glorious PC.

Get a z97 one. Why would you like to buy a processor designed for OCing, while not having an OC-motherboard?

PSU is garbage.

The CPU is unlocked and the motherboard is locked.

(Get a Z97 motherboard instead)

Looks good.

Get a Z97 board.

Otherwise get a locked CPU like 4460/4440.

DOn't get CX PSU. It's a crap.

Get EVGA G2/GS series PSU instead.

So a ASRock Z97M Anniversary or MSI Z97 PC Mate should be a better mobo for my build?
