AMD Hawaii, Launched in Hawaii on Sept 25

xAcid9

Will they be releasing the whole new gen of cards (9xxx series) or just be releasing one flagship card to go against the Titan ?

I believe the flagship at first. Then the rest will follow a month (?) later.

Yet, 2x 7970s outperform by quite a margin against 7990. Why is that? Also, i said an overclocked 7950s, around 1100mhz perhaps?

What are you talking about? Show me where 2 7970's outperform a 7990 by more than 5%. It is IMPOSSIBLE for 2 7970 gpu's to be better than 2 other 7970 gpu's at the same frequency.

Finally my Santa hat doesn't look out of place

Hawaii isn't being actually released until Q4. This is just the tech day to show off the technology.

Yup, the actual launch date is around Oct.

thats old news

Real programmers don't document, if it was hard to write, it should be hard to understand.
I've learned that something constructive comes from every defeat.

buys a 9970 with 4gb of vram

use it with vga cable :D 1440x900 and constant 75fps for me :D

lol i will have around 2.7gb of vram just chilling :3

LOL, my neighbour uses that resolution so I'm recommending to him a 7850 or at most a 760 if he wants to keep it for long. Thought more than than would be waste of money.

Will the September 25th tech event be NDA or will websites immediately be able to release to the public what it covers?

I expect that websites that are not under NDA will immediately post the things said in said live stream. :| So an NDA would be pointless imo.
