So, ye... 144hz widescreens have JUST started appearing, and they are all overpriced, prob cuz 35" size.

Hopefully these 30" ones will be more affordable. Also - VA panel with 3x higher contrast than anything else youve seen so far.

 

Release time? no clue... the first 144hz IPSs announced by AUO optronics took almost a year to be available for purchase. 

 

Not before CES2016 for sure. And well know better by then.

All this monitor orgies, just get a simple 1440 or 1080p monitor...there is a dozen models of the same panel, with different review and different prices. Its just a damn screen...

I do, and if you are playing games, you wont notice a damn difference in 720, 1080 or 1440 if you are at a reasonable distance (1m+) from your monitor.

To be fair however, I myself would prefer to use something like my old 85Hz IPS 1024x768 monitor over my 1080p 60Hz TN panel screen as it beats it in every single way except screen space. However anything less than 1080p doesn't seem like its enough to me .

I do, and if you are playing games, you wont notice a damn difference in 720, 1080 or 1440 if you are at a reasonable distance (1m+) from your monitor.

You've never played a game at 720p then 1080p have you? I have and 1080p makes a large difference to how much you can see on the screen at one time. Try to play COD at 720p then play it at 1080p.

I know its there, but you obviously haven't played at 720p than 1080p. Because it might look like you have more on the screen with a FOV adjustment, but you really don't.

And Nvidia a kick up the ass to adopt freesync. (I'll lol if iGPU support it before Nvidia's GPU do-though not when I go looking for a 144Hz screen, I only have Nvidia PCIe graphics cards).

this is not the case. 144hz is a nicer experince with less tearing and a faster monitor. Ultrawide gives you more screen real estate meaning a wider and more immersive experince in games. And 720p vs 1440p is literally 2x tue sreen resolution with 4x the pixels, you can see the diffrence when you are the 2-3ft from your monitor

I never said that it doesn't do anything, I know for a fact that it does, however my point still stands. I've played at 720p then 1080p (FOV adjustments don't do that much at lower resolutions BTW), you however have not (do I have to take a SS demonstrating my old 4:9 IPS monitor next to my 16:9 TN screen?

Nvidia better adopt Freesync.  Honestly, likely to buy an AMD Fury X  and just rock that until Greenland.  980ti may be the better deal, but seriously screw Nvidia lately.  That and at the very least if AMD ever dissolves, Radeon'll likely be gobbled up by Intel.  Can't go wrong with that future.

In CSGO you don't have a slider but you can like adjust the res and aspect ratio to adjust the FOV.

I just want to get one extra wide screen IPS 144hz 4k display w/freesync, and one secondary monitor that i can keep portrait next to that...

Didn't know you asked a question thought were emphasizing the difference and yes I did I like 1080p more except for CSGO as I got use to 768p and changing it just ruins things for me.

agree with the general sentiment - gear acquisition paralysis becomes nonsense in practical use cases. just pick a suitable one and get busy - it's the content that matters most.
