The Corsair CX-series

I have a CX600M and I've never had a problem with it BUT I'm replacing within a week because A) Sketchy sketchy sketchy B) Not enough power.

1399

Gotta wonder what you're gonna replace it with man!

Well you can get a EVGA B2 that is 80+ bronze which is much better than a 600B :). but usually the EVGA and XFX 80+ Gold units are great :).

Yeah

RM650 actually functioning here. (Fanless with my OC'd 980 24/7)

Next PSU will probably be Platinum or Titanium. Brownouts will be more common in California.

Eh, the efficiency hardly makes a difference, really. Unless you're running very hot and heavy hardware under load 24/7 you'll see no tangible difference on your power bill.

No, the price is not the problem, it is the fluctuation in power that will be.

please read this review. http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story5&reid=239 the CX series power supplies aren't bad but you don't put a system that uses 600w of power with a 430w psu, it just doean't work. "a 500w power supply will be fine for and single gpu rig" now there are exceptions like a fx 9590 and a r9 390x you should probably get a 600w psu.

From the same review

Build Quality (15% of the final score) - now, this is where I have to get tough. I don't compromise on build quality, no matter how cheap a unit sells for. In this case, the soldering is the elephant in the room, even though it's not nearly bad enough to be a problem. I'm going to yank three points for that. Another half point comes off for capacitor selection, even though I have no concerns about Teapo and Samxon holding up over time. I'll pay extra for the real good stuff, though - that's just the way I am.

Voltage regulation could have been better, but this is a group design. Of course it could have been better. What do you expect, AX series quality?

Well - the CX600 turns into a 400W PSU above 30*C :)

Tru but I was just saying he was going on about over loading the targeted wattage but it's not really relevant

There are 2 dozen revisions - some okay, some fire hazards. Most of the current ones are the latter.

I still suggest getting an XFX TS for 26$ - it's a LOT better and utterly cheap atm.

It's a rebranded SeaSonic S12II unlike the crappy CWT CX.

It's not based on load - it's based on heat. The CX lose a considerable amount of output capacity when the PC warms up - a 970 + Phenom II is enough to brick it.

That's the other thing - the CX's protections don't always kick in. Unlike SeaSonic - CWT take QC with more leisure.

Based on this, the only thing I need to worry about is losing some data that I didn't save if it shuts itself down?
