Receiver Problems

Well @SSL I contacted sonys online support...

and they were useless.

 

Then i contacted phone suport.

 

AND IT WORKS NOW

 

They told me how to factory reset it and it fixed it!!!

All my problems are gone!!!

(other than the fact only the front uses binding posts)

Ok, so i have a few problems.

My receiver is conected via HDMI

 

I can only get surround if I have the receiver as a second monitor

If its connected to my monitor using HDMI passthorugh I can only get stereo

I can not get a signal on my HDMI monitor pass through on receiver if a DVI monitor is also connected to my gpu.

I just get the signal on the DVI monitor, and it flashes.

I can get normal DVI and HDMI monitor if I don't use the pass through on my receiver, but then my receiver isn't connected to my computer.

 

Ideas?
I have tried fixing it for a while, nothing I do works.

​

I seltled on using only one monitor on DVI and having a mirrored second monitor being the receiver.

It is really anoying.

 

I dont want to have to use one monitor/

Screenshot all your PC audio settings.

Ok, so now i can get dual monitor, but only stereo.

 

So here is the settings

When i conect it not using HDMI passthrough, i can select stereo, quadrophonic, 5.1, or 7.1

Actualy noticed something else.

 

I can boot up in 2 monitors with receiver on, but if my receiver turns off, making my HDMI pass thorugh monitor go off, even when i turn the receiver back on, only the DVI monitor works, and it flashes.

 

If i just do a single HDMI monitor, and no DVI monitor, when i turn receiver back on, it works fine

and now it has more problems again.

 

When the receiver turns off, i have to unplug the monitor and plug it back into pc inorder to get picture, but not always.

And the receiver is set properly to output all channels?

Yeah, it works fine if I have the HDMI just to receiver, not pass through

Not immediately. I've been poking around online but haven't found an obvious solution yet.

an option i could always do if all else fails is

HDMI to receiver

DVI to main monitor

Displayport to DVI to secondary monitor.

Weird. Well, something to be said for contacting the manufacturer, I guess. Good to hear it's working.

Weird. Well, something to be said for contacting the manufacturer, I guess. Good to hear it's working.

Actually, I still can't get my second monitor to work while my first monitor is connected to receiver.

If monitor A is connected to receiver, connected to GPU, and monitor b is connected to GPU, I only get picture on monitor b , and it flashes. If I disconnect b, a works fine, as does 5.1.
