netflix at 2560 x 1440?

just-cause999

i have a 2560x1440 monitor, and i was wondering to choose the 8.99 per month netflix membership that has 1080p, or the 11.99 with support for 4k...

My question is if it can run movies at 4k, will it run at 2560x1440?

thanks for the answers

I don't think Netflix has an option for 1440p. I think it's sort of 720p, 1080p, 4K. I'm not sure though, never used it with a 1440p monitor.

I would go for the 4K, the 1080p won't render to the resolution of your monitor, although it will still be 1080p. Whether the extra cost is worth the extra sharpness is up to you. Also make sure your Internet can handle 4K streaming if you go that route.

Edit: Also, follow your own topics and what's with the double post?

AFAIK Netflix only allows greater than 1080p streaming on a handful of "supported devices". So your limited to 1080p on a PC.

1080p will be upscaled, 4K will be downscaled, overall the 4K will be better image quality in theory, though I doubt it will be very a noticeable difference.

there's 5 shows on Netflix 4k..5! so yeah not worth it.. despite the fact I pay lol.

plus all of the shows are just upscaled 1080p and its really apparent.
