Depends on the waterblock, but most likely no, the 970 and 980 have nearly identical PCBs, so do the 980 ti and the titan x, so between those cards there is intercompatibility, but i don't think that's the case all the way from the 980 to the titan x. I'm not 100% sure tho, so double check.
