Dead Island warning.

Basically there are hackers on the prowl and they are exploiting an issue with the online co op. Basically a player can join your game and reset your quests back to 0.

 

You won't lose your weapons, skills or money etc but you will find you have to start the game over.

 

It happened to me at level 10 and I had spent about ten hours playing so you've been warned !

 

Go into the options and make the game single player and block it in your firewall.

Friends only. Problem solved. Unless they are hacking into your pc and editing files.

Probably not, that sort of data is usually server-side.

Dead Island saves the data to your saved games. Nothing is server side in relations to level data. That's another reason why you can use Tunggle to play it.

If they can delete your quests and the data is that accessible, you can probably add to your progress as well.

If it was server side it would be next to impossible to hack, like LoL

Pretty much *anything* is hackable. LoL can be hacked.
