Car Enthusiast Club [Now Motorcycle friendly!] - First thread to 150k! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

I woke up, put on shorts and a short sleeve shirt, walked outside to 55F weather.

was a bit chilly... had to hurry though so no time to change. The .6 mile walk to class wasn't too fun :(

at least it's in the 70's now and the high is 81

that probably woke you up

Sorry to hit you all in the feels on a Monday, but the time has finally come.

This is the last Evo that Mitsubishi will make. Period. While the Lancer continues onto 2016, the Evo's lineage ends now. Meet the Lancer Evolution X Final Edition (deja vu back to the SLS AMG, eh?). The Evo has been one of few manual cars you could still get in today's market, and to see it go is deeply saddening. The Final Edition includes minor performance upgrades over the existing range-topping GSR, and comes with a MSRP of $37,995. Only 1,600 are coming to North America.

A video from Mitsubishi themselves:

As a Subaru fanboy, I'm not ashamed to admit that Mitsubishi has always had the better engineered car; as a tool, it was one of the sharpest you could buy for less than the price of a M3 and out-performed anything FJI could make, but where they suffered is in day-to-day drivability and the ownership experience. Nowadays, you see a lot more 4s, 5s, and 6s come over from Japan simply based on merit but to finally admit that 10 is as far as they go... it leaves you feeling, empty. I know someone posted this earlier, but I feel its appropriate to repost so here's Mr. Regular on what made it's predecessor so great.

Sitting at the Toyota dealer waiting for the work to begin. I kinda looked like an idiot when I walked through the front door instead of the service area, but I had never been here, and the only doors I saw had an employees only sign on them. Apparently I was supposed to just drive right through a pair of overhead doors into this little tile area where they inspect the vehicle. Go figure.

No more EVO's?

:(

Mitsubishi isn't going to make a "real" sports car anymore? Will they just slowly die making sedans and outlanders?

So many questions.... I miss the old Japanese market where every company had a sports car that everyone loved and wanted

Yeah of course there is that... But I just miss there being more. Toyota, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Nissan, and Mazda all had something awesome (but affordable) to offer at least one point in time, now it's kinda just about economy and comfort more than anything else

Exactly. I don't want to drive a Sedan. I want a sporty car that has a backseat to cram friends into, but yet doesn't cost an arm and a leg. The FR-S is nice, but the back seat is so small it may as well not exist.

hey guys im not really into cars built after 1975ish (the exception being supercars) but i need a daily driver that is safer than the one im actually using. can you guys suggest a good car under 30k and performs well i was thinking an abarth. but i want something with a little more power. it can be used but has to have modern safety features (i don't care for a lot of Japanese cars no offence)
