What people seem to forget is the service associated with business & enterprise grade connections. I've got FTTP but my internet goes out, cool, what happens? I wait up to a week, maybe more for the ISP to get it fixed and that's if they can find an issue with it. Business and enterprise grade connections come with SLA's; guarantee's to meet a certain product being supplied. Your internet fails on an SLA'd connection? The response time for most of the customers I've seen is between 15 to 60 minutes for acknowledgement and about 4-8 hours for service to either get back to normal or have a time as to when that'll happen.

I'd assume around $300/mo. Idk how expensive Internet is in Canada xD

Also what do you guys pay for internet? In all seriousness i wanted to ask someone with google fiber how it is to have 1gbps

You don't need google fibre to have 1gbps (125mB), here in Portugal Vodafone has 1gbps internet too, though only in Lisabon, I think :(

 

EDiT: for like 40€, it was for 24,9€ a month but that was only till 31 July

All of eastlink's home plans have a 250gb cap, then its $1 per gb after. We use about 300-350gb a month.

LMG is getting FTTP, which is much more expensive and more redundant than any other form of connection, and is also the fastest, and is also the most expensive.

 

FTTP pricing is usually based on distance to the nearest exchange, and linus said that the iTel guy said that he's only a couple of blocks away from the hub and so I'm guessing from a number of variables he paid $900 setup and $1200 CAD monthly for the connection.

 

Seems pricey.

Out here in NJ Im getting 50/50 for $120 but that also includes TV and phone since we use the same provider for home phone, internet, and TVs (3 cable boxes)

I pay way too damn much for 20mbps up, 2mbps down, shitty data but actually good ping because ISPs don't give a shit about people in the Midwest. We're stuck with the worst and most expensive internet.

My ping is because I'm 30+ miles away, so it jumps between 10-20 depending on various things.  We pay 105 for this.

I get that on a wireless connection from my router. Is this test wired or not?
