Do you use IOBit?

AstroBenny

Does anyone use any of their software? They make big claims about increasing pc performance.

I don't like 2D games...I just couldn't get into them.. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Yes actually.  They were good until recently.  They made the original GameBooster before Razer bought it off of them, and their Uninstaller software was fantastic until recently where it started pushing to be in Windows Startup....

The performance boosters are just way to hoax gamers. Same way like Gunnar gaming glasses. Really anything that says to do some boosting isn't really doing much. I checked once what internet boosting would do. Really nothing since I ended up ticking all the stuff off.

As for other stuff. Advanced System Care does kinda same with CCleaner. I've been using that for a long time, now as Pro version. Smart Defrag is best defragging software I know. Handles trimming of SSD and is way faster than Defragler. The Driver booster could be good, but free version is useless, finds stuff that doesn't even need updating and pro version is too expensive to even consider.

What does the driver updater even do.? Surely the updates it finds must do something :P

It checks all drivers that are in Device Manager and compare them to some database. Yes, it will find updates for drivers. But It will also find drivers that have latest version from 2007 etc. and marks them with "danger red" sign. Those are generic devices for mobo like USB controllers. You can't update them normally. Software "updates" them. Version number doesn't really change but you get rid of danger sign. Another is devices which have newer drivers for different OS than what you are running. Should you update to those because they have newer release date and version number? Probably not.
