WHY WHY WHY!?!?!?!

I have one simple question why is there no monitor that is:

 

very curved

ultra wide

144hz/120hz

ips

1440p

g-sync

ultra low motion blur aka ulmb

small bessels

and super sexy stand

 

is there any explonation for this because i need a monitor like this. It is like an ultra wide and curved ROG Swift exept for the ips part, and is it only me that dreams of this monitor??? Please i really want to know! :)

 

PS: I know such an monitor would be expnsive but i dont give a flying fluffy kitten about it!

Because normal 1440p IPS 144Hz is hard enough to achieve. Ultra wide (3440x1440p) and everything else is pretty much impossible right now.

It's kinda hard for IPS panels to not die at high refresh rates. :(

Yes i know i wrote this topic as kind of a joke but c´mon we can live the dream! :)

Lg and acer are very close. Don't loose faith, the mighty pc community will always find a way.

Well G sync requires DisplayPort 1.2 right now, and that can only drive 109Hz on a 3440x1440 display, soooo... yeah, soz bud :(

 

Maybe when DP 1.3 is a more wide spread/available thing  :ph34r:

 

Also Acer have a thing for making ugly high end gaming monitors :(

1. 3440x1440 at 144Hz exceeds the limits of DisplayPort 1.2. No current graphics cards have connections with higher bandwidth than that, and the G-SYNC module only has DisplayPort 1.2 support anyway.

 

2. ULMB or any kind of anti-blur backlight strobing requires a fixed refresh frequency in order to properly time the strobe lengths to prevent flickering and sudden brightness changes, and so ULMB is fundamentally incompatible with G-SYNC/FreeSync. The only way to combine them would be to buffer frames ahead of time in order to calculate strobe lengths and brightness for every frame, which would add massive latency.

 

That's why. :)

 

But, you may be interested in the Acer X34 when it's released. It's 100Hz, which is about the highest you'll get at the moment.

m8 XR341CKA is ultrawide 1440p ips 75Hz g-sync and freesync models so yeah...

 

It's 75Hz... So it's close, but my point still stands. 

 

But it is bloody freesync for amd´s inferior gpu´s and that is a fact!!!

 

There's a G-SYNC version too, which is 100Hz rather than 75Hz I believe. The Acer X34, previously the XR341CKA.

Having ULMB /strobing active at the same time as freesync or gsync could be a serious health hazard.

no, not the interlaced ones--they were fine.  The non interlanced ones?

Those things could give people seizures with all the flicker.

 

60hz (NTSC) flicker is bad enough.  Some people can handle it, some hate it.  but at least if you were not adversely affected by it you could deal with it especially on non white/grey backgrounds.  50hz, on the other hand...don't even get me started on it.

 

Most people with strobed monitors have never seen 50hz flicker if they have never used a CRT.  However the Benq Z series monitors (before the XL2730Z, which can not do it) can strobe at 50hz, via a custom resolution and vertical total, which enforces 60hz strobe pulses (the backlight itself is strobing at 50hz, though).  It's downright awful, even though the image is smooth with no blurring (the flickering is NOT).

 

And since many gsync games can drop down to lower than 50 fps...yeah.  it would drive you crazy.

A possible workaround would be to enable double strobe (e.g. strobing at 120hz pulses when the dynamic refresh rate drops to 60hz, and likewise double the hz if lower (e.g. 55 fps -->110hz strobing), but the backlight changing like this would probably not be too pleasant.

 

What they need to do is combine laser projector tech (this by nature does not have motion blur at all, and no strobed tech is needed) with gsync.

I personally may wait even longer to see if any other options arise, which I assume there will be by Q2 next year at the latest, what with Samsung developing a Curved 34" SVA 3440x1440 100Hz Panel. 

 

I'm very much looking forward to see how that gets integrated into a display.

yeah i will have to save up some money to buy it but first i have to save for my first pc build before i had an asus tytan but it got destroyed in a flood so the only computer i have now is this fucking hp laptop!!!!!
