$900 almost for a pre-order mobo.  Yeaaah.  Them dealers trying to get as much as they can off the gullible!  Even in Australia--I can't see $820 for a mainstream chipset motherboard.

Everyone, Listen , just don't buy the damn thing if you already have  an 89 chipset mobo, The same thing happened with Titan Z & R9 290x2 these are just prices set to see if the customers accept it or not, if nobody buys it they will reduce it & reduce it damn well..

$291 for a fucking Krait? God damn it, that's waay too bloody expensive. The current Krait is only $200 and that's from PCCG!

The old Krait is a board with budget-ish feature set though, and they said that they intend to actually make it a higher end board next generation as they received a lot of good feedbacks regarding the color scheme but disappointed with its feature set.

Yeah you can probably take about $100AUD off these prices if you want a more realistic retail price.

There are stores that has a $50+ markup......

This is one of them.

 

Good Australian PC stores are PCCG, MSY and Umart. Not sure about the others but these three always have consistent pricing and I always take a look once a week.

Skylake is suppose to add extra PCIe lanes from 16 to 20?

Normal prices for moboos in au arent actually that high. Only for Amd :(

PC is Intel Core i5 6400, GIgabyte H170 Gaming 3, Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x4GB 2400Mhz ,Sandisk Ultra Plus 128GB, WD Blue 1TB, NZXT S340, ASUS Geforce GTX 960. Fractal Design Tesla R2 650W. http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/793XNG. Graphics card choices don't always have to be dictated on performance. If you want the game stream and power consumption of the GTX 970 get that. If you want raw performance of the R9 390 get that. In the end we are all gamers, so what if your buddy gets an extra 5 fps?

If that's the case then we might see more motherboards with official SLI support, it will still depend on the manufacturer since they will have to get the motherboard certified by Nvidia which costs a bit.
