I will mod a Caselabs SMA8, it is a dream case for me since I've seen it. smile.png

There is not that much to say about the case, except that it is one of the biggest and priciest cases on the market.
The qualitiy of it is a dream.

SMA8_Case_010.jpg

SMA8_Case_013.jpg

You can easy remove the tray, I like this option a lot.

SMA8_Case_011.jpg

Enough space for two power supplies

SMA8_Case_012.jpg

a lot of room for hardware. smile.png

SMA8_Case_005.jpg

I will use a 560er and 280er radiator in the bottom section.

SMA8_Case_006.jpg

In the Front would be enough room for another radiator but i will just mount fans there.

SMA8_Case_007.jpg

Backside:

I love that case!

Don't get the 4960x, waste of money my friend, the 4790k will do you much the same for less

They probably have it from an "old" build

Yes I already have this CPU.

But for another build I use an 4790K and It feels not that fast. :D

And I like the X79 base much more than the Z97. It looks so much better.

One of the highlights for this build arrived yesterday.

What could it be?

SMA8_WiP_009.jpg

Its an sLight made by Martmamod/Stempel-Hauser.

Great company with nice service and high quality products.

SMA8_WiP_010.jpg

On all pictures is an protectie sheet on the slight but it looks great anyway.

SMA8_WiP_011.jpg

fits very well. :) (not the final graphics cards.)

Some more black for you:

I'm very happy for being supported by Noiseblocker.
They sent me 8x PL1, 1x PL2, 6x PK2 fans. They look so fantastic in this case.
Thanks for supporting me. :)

SMA8_WiP_001.jpg

The package includes a lot of accessories. its to bad that the decoupling rubber seals doesnt fit with m4 screws which are needed for the radiators.

I've cleaned the pumps.
Changed the fittings from Bitspower to Barrow.

New fittings, later I exchanged the green o-rings  for black ones.

Besides that, I used some new screws. :)

Looking good! Could I have a link for the sLight? Google does not find it :/

Yes it does mate, you might have to click on it though....

http://www.stempel-hauser.de/shop/page/2/

I'll save you the week I spent researching these. You can order it from stempel but there is a guy in Portugal that makes them for alot cheaper.

Or just cut out the middleman and make one yourself like I did [straya shipping urgh].

Measure where you want to put the light and go to your local perspex/plastics shop and ask for two solid white pieces and a clear perspex piece about the same thickness as the two white pieces put together. Grab a thermaltake white LED strip or equivalent and then go to Bunnings and buy some silver insulation tape and tape up the base and the edges thick enough to block light, with the LED strip on the edge you want. Voila half the price and time of waiting for it to ship.

Fiddy mm has a nice guide here but there are plenty online on other pc modding sites. The trick to achieving uniform illumination accross the top piece is to carve with a box cutter or knife a grib pattern into the middle piece to reflect the light through the piece so that you get that nice glow.

Fiddys guide from page 5:

There is another guide somewhere on the internet that I found after pouring over martmamods thread [http://www.overclockingstation.de/case-modding-gehaeuse-bastelecke/4293-martmas-gravur-laser-murdermod-thread.html]

But I can't find it atm, it showed a discussion on what the best thickness was for the space between cuts for the grid pattern and what perspex was the best to use. Whatever, here is mine:

Forgive me for spamming your thread flix29, just wanted to help starwarsguy99 and anyone else whom finds this. Looking forward to seeing the end result after you absence!

I've made a lightbox by myself some time ago. It was a lot of work  and looks ok but didnt come out that great. In another project I also used a slight form Coldzero (The guy from portugal) Also very nice work but not as great as the parts from Stempelhauser. (Sorry for the missing link)

Update:

Some new shots of the hardware.

The motherboard of my dreams. :) Asus X99 WS-E

Hey,

I will nickelplate them. :) I think that will match the design idea perfect. :)
