[Benchmarks] GTX Titan SLI - 4K (3840x2160) - BF3, Skyrim, Crysis 2, Unigine Heaven

Cacao

Interesting to see that Skyrim is much more demanding on 4K, because in 1080p, BF3 and Crysis 2 are way more graphics intensive than Skyrim

probably because mods

He said this is in vanilla Skyrim with everything at max.

I think that Skyrim is just not very optimized while BF3 and Crysis 3 are for 1080p. That's my guess anyway.

Keep in mind that skyrim has vsync built in that you can't enable, so we don't know how high it would've gone.

  • 7 months later...

The camera was find at first. I have no clue why he didn't go to screen capture mode. He couldn't afford to purchase a $40.00 screen capture utility? Maybe the utility can't go to 3840X2160. I happy with my 1920X1080 HD on my BenQ VA 27" monitor.

Ah the sound of ignorance.... By screen capturing you severely decrease performance, thus giving an inaccurate benchmark, and no, the difference isn't negligible. Obviously I have the ability to record my screen.

Couldn't even come close to watching the presentation. The video i.e. the camera stunk. I wouldn't be complaing if I could see clearly what the presenter trying to do.

And now instead of just accepting that you made a senseless comment, you have to start bashing the rest of the video. Hey if it's so bad, don't watch it? There are plenty of videos on this monitor you can watch ;)

Hi!

Don't worry i'm not here to post a rude comment =D seems you've had more than you'r fair share of those in this thread already!

Looking at the becnchmarks you made, Skyrim being a more CPU-bound than the C2 and BF3 do you thing this could be a factor for the skyrim avg. FPS to be lower than both C2 and BF3? (vanilla skryim atleast at lower res. is not as demanding as C2)

As I have no experiance with 4K I don't know if a CPU-bound game "scales" the CPU usage accordingly when increasing the resolution.

Also do you find the the small text/icons @4kUncompressedPorn to be an issue for you? Currently using 27"@1080p, a little worried about that, but I'd sure like that pixel density you have =)

About Skyrim, the average could actually be higher, the game has vsync built in that you can't turn off. So you're locked to 60FPS. About the text, if I remember correctly I put text scaling in windows to 125%, that made the text pretty comfortably readable. On the normal size you need to lean in or strain your eyes a bit to read small text properly.
