Hello, I screwed up. I decided overclock my PC (4690k) to 3.8 ghz and changed my ram frequency to 2133 MHz. When I reset I heard four post beeps and got the AMI code 55. Help?

I'm guessing the board doesn't have an OC Retry function?

Just reset CMOS and it should POST again.

So will resetting the CMOS return the CPU and RAM to the default settings? Because that's what I am aiming for.

Thank you. I will try it as soon as I can and post the results. I've been waiting all the day for an answer on Toms Hardware but no one answered. At least there's fast help here

I have a couple of questions before I start. In order to do this, do I unplug the PC from the PSU? Do I unplug all my usb cables?

If your motherboard has a Clear CMOS button on it, just press that, shouldn't need to unplug or turn off anything.

If not, unplug or switch off the PSU at the back. No need to unplug anything else, and remove the CR2032 coin battery for 30 seconds. Re-place that, switch back on and your BIOS will be at defaults.
