Project Shiro: 3-Way SLI 780s + HG10s + H75s - Madness

Lavin

Hello everyone! I'm putting a rig together for this year's QuakeCon and with the help of Corsair, I wanted to do something fun and a bit silly. Corsair had just released the HG10 N780, which is meant for reference cards, ranging from the 770 to the Titan. So... what a way to show them off other than by doing something most people wouldn't even do!

Alright so here we go!

PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/W2yWvK
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-5930K 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor
  • CPU Cooler: Corsair H110i GT 113.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler

  • Other: Hydro Series HG10 N780 GPU Liquid Cooling Bracket ($49.99)

Features of the build:
  • Custom Cabling - Mixture of Bare Wire + Custom Length Extensions specified for the 780T.
  • Plastidip Paint Touches - Fan Blades and the HG10 Brackets
  • Vinyl cut graphics
  • Other stuff I am currently forgetting but will add as the build progresses.

As always, I will be doing my own cables and will be adding a unique touch to them. After Quakecon, I just might do a giveaway here since I won't be using them anymore. I will also be utilizing some 28-Pin Cable Combs, similar to the ones I used for Snef's cables. I'll have them up on my shop soon so if you see them on my build and decide you like them, send me a message and I'll hook you guys up.

So interesting to see a build with multi gpu's, where none of the main components use air from case fans, all closed systems... Do you plan on adding 1-2 case fans, for a little passive cooling to the Capacitors and modules that rely on a little airflow to help cool them?

I like good humans and good food

Very interesting setup but wouldn't a custom loop be better since full 780 water blocks would cover the vram and less tube clutter over all?

I'm curious how you like the fan controller. I've been considering replacing my Grid+ with one...

Specs: 4790k | Asus Z-97 Pro Wifi | MX100 512GB SSD | NZXT H440 Plastidipped Black | Dark Rock 3 CPU Cooler | MSI 290x Lightning | EVGA 850 G2 | 3x Noctua Industrial NF-F12's

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it

The impellers on the reference coolers are prettier than the ones on the HG10s. Can they be transplanted? Or are the sizes all wrong?

I cannot be held responsible for any bad advice given.

I've no idea why the world is afraid of 3D-printed guns when clearly 3D-printed crossbows would be more practical for now.

My rig: The StealthRay. Plans for a newer, better version of its mufflers are already being made.

Good idea! They can be directly transplanted as they were made using the Titan Cooler's fan as a reference.

The "straps" are actually cable combs that I sell at my shop. You'll need sleeved cables to use them.

...Those are the most beautifully managed cables I have ever seen.

Edit: Where did those cable separators come from?

Questions

Why not 3 GPU's? Did they not fit?

How is the Corsair Link? Is it worth it?

Anyway's the cable management is insane. Makes me want to get custom cables now.

Why not 3 GPU's? Did they not fit?

Correct, they did not fit as the 2nd card with the H75 had serious collision and actually ended up puncturing the H75 tubing, so that had to go.

How is the Corsair Link? Is it worth it?

Yes, very much so! I actually like it BETTER than ASUS AI Suite in terms of fan control. It's much more intuitive and you actually can get LED control!
