What FPS do you think I will get with a 3440x1440p monitor on Witcher Ultra with Hairworks and AA, also GTA 5 Ultra with 2x MSAA using the benchmark tool, I will be using two GTX 980ti Classified

He has VSync on with the GTA 5 one and the Witcher 3 one, I cannot even read the FPS count some times and I think he has Vsync on as well, I have asked to do some benchmarks on it.

Well I know SLI 980 ti can run 4K crysis 3 very good solid 60 fps. It will dip down to the 50s sometimes so 3440x1440p with sli 980 ti and SLI classys in your matter.. you should be solid and not worry.

Here are some nice benchmarks for 3440 x 1440 with gtx 980, 980ti, and titan.

http://www.tweaktown.com/tweakipedia/98/3440x1440-benchmarked-nvidias-geforce-gtx-titan-more/index.html

This is the first monitor I have seen that really seems to have it all. Assuming one could get one without backlight bleed or other defects.

I am thinking hard about getting it, but may wait to see how QC looks.

You can polish off the bezel shine with a scotch brite pad super easily, just do it carefully. Tape off your screen. Look for how to vids on youtube.

I did think they were going to all be pushed back till the start of October :c

But 20th is late anyway, you should 100% cancel your order with Very and if you're still wanting to wait for the x34 get it with Scan or OCUK.:

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/34-acer-predator-x34-curved-ips-nvidia-g-sync-gaming-monitor-ips-hdmi20-displayport-3440x1440-300cd-

They are both the start of October roughly, instead of the 20th.

Personally I myself am waiting it out, even though I hate the design of the Acer I know a similar monitor with those specs wont come till next year at least (I don't think the Asus will be 100Hz), and when it does I have no clue if they will improve much on the design or not. I think it's worth the wait, although I'm also tempted to just save like £300-400 and get a standard 3440x1440, or even the Samsung VA one, but either way I'm waiting till the x34 release to see how it does.

I know what you mean - it's a choice between 100hz, G-Sync, Faster response vs Cheaper, better looking, better QC, better warranty etc.

I just wish someone like LG or Samsung would make one, however that's very unlikely to happen

Yeah exactly, and as a uni student, when I'm at uni, like last year, I hardly played games at all, it was all about productivity, and I like that professional look LG did with their 34UC87M (And they used it in a couple other monitors too like the 31MU97)

Honestly if I could get that design with the specs of the Acer x34, or the Acer x34 + the deep blacks of a high end VA panel, then I would grab one 100% no questions asked at the higher price point.

Or if I was a heavy gamer and I had more free time I'd probably still pick it up. But I'm not sure if I'll make enough use out of the 100Hz + G sync to warrant the higher price and imo uglier design

Decisions, decisions, decisions

Thankfully Acer gave me an extra month to think it over  <_<

VA's have a higher static contrast ratio, meaning the potential of much deeper blacks yes, although in a lot of cases this can also come with its own set of issues, the biggest of which being 'Black Crush' where deep blacks kind of just merge in other blacks with them, OLEDs shouldn't have that issue thankfully, although the Samsung 3440x1440 one, providing you set the gamma right, doesn't get affected by this.

Hey @o0Martin is the 34UC87M the same as the 34UC87C?

Yeah they are pretty much, they are just marketed to different audiences, there are a few different variants of it, some with thunderbolt, some without, some are exactly the same but literally just different marketing pages. to me it doesn't matter which I buy.

For the G-SYNC version I assume?

Somebody on YouTube said that 109hz is the max Displayport 1.2 can do, so we better overclock it from 100 to 109 :P

It seems Overclockers list the 30 September and Scan lists the 9 October, I think Overclocks list the release date and Scan list the actual date when the retailers get it.

totally annoyed about this now considering 4k or a surround set up with Gsync, Really like ultrawides just a few things that put me off backlight bleed seems to be worse and the stand design on a lot of them isn't particularly nice. If only that acer 2560x1440p 144hz ips gsync panel had a hdmi port like this predator my mind would be made up.

Yeah, it is 109hz on DP 1.2 at the moment.

Why do you need a HDMI port?

And yes, I had three Acer XB270HU's in surround, but it's really hard to drive games at that resolution at playable framerates even with a 980Ti.

This monitor is only requires a bit more juice then a 1440P but then again it's 100hz not 144hz so should be the same as my Acer XB270HU.

I don't 100% need a HDMI but it would be nice to be able to plug my cinema system into it as I use the paid NOW TV movie streaming service and I don't have a TV in the same room as my PC

Cancelled my order Acer need to set a final release date before I commit to buying this monitor 3 times it has been changed now. I thought about getting the LG 29UC65 and then two 1080p 16:9 LG monitor and having a surround with a ultrawide in the middle not sure how well It would work though with a res of 6400x1080
