144hz Monitors with a non 144hz Wil there be performance loss?

Pretty much the desciption a little caviat I'm building a new rig using a GTX 980 I already have 2 monitors but planning to get a 144hz does having a 60hz monitor attached to the same GPU affect the performance of the 144hz?

If you are intending to run in surround at any point in the near future with 3 screens... or 2 for whatever reason you will be restricted to the lower hz output. But running 2/3 independent monitors will do nothing.
