Logitech Is Changing Its Name to "Logi" Because Tech Means Nothing

I absolutely despise the latest trend of companies thinking that less color and straight lines equal a better logo. All it does is suck the character out of the brand, I mean look at microsoft windows. 4 squares - in a square. How interesting. How edgy. It's just garbage, and I'm sick of it. Sad to see another company rebrand itself for the 21st century by removing all evidence they once actually cared about their brand's image.

Hell, even Domino's pizza did this recently. "We are more than pizza, now we are just called Domino's!"

 

I think this is a little different. Everybody I know always called it "Domino's" anyway, so instead of rebranding as something new they were just connecting with how their brand was seen and referred to as.

I think they are trying to capture the technology motivated civilization we live in today, by claiming we are constantly surrounded by it so there is no reason anymore to to reference it in their company name as opposed to years ago when they first started.

ok, fairly reasonable. But wouldn't tech being in their name make even more sense and be more relevant? So tech is all around us and therefore this logitech has latest and greatest then... Basically I get the point but it doesn't really change much in terms of branding, it's just a weak sounding name. I like the person who posted that they should be called LogiK, cause a k instead of a c is hip, I guess
